    Doesn't slag us off.

"Chalk and cheese first and second half."

Imo, going forward first half Bournemouth were exceptional.

2nd half we had em licked.

    COYR.

All credit to Val, I reckon.

Long ball? direct? We out passed them 2nd half, think he was listening to the commentary rather than watching the match!

I'm with you. We had a decent 10 mins before we scored first half. They were much better than us for the other 35 minutes of that half.

Second half we steamrollered them. It wasn't even close. And we didn't do it through simple direct football. We outplayed them. Humility is under utilised in football.

Crap football managers and crap football fans have similar issues to addicts. You have to acknowledge you have a problem before you can address it.

    We’re absolutely long ball.

Long ball into the forwards who then play some terrific football between themselves, Mowatt, Britton and Styles in the right areas.

Looks like ‘They’re direct, they’re a long ball team’ is a buzz phrase now for opposing managers. Only one team constantly playing the long ball today and that was them.

Think today showed everyone that we are not only great at playing direct but also great at playing football on the floor when the pitch and conditions allow which all bodes well for the rest of the season.

Also, I think the signing of Carlton Morris might go down as one of the greatest mid-season signings in the history of Association Football.

Getting rid of Howe and replacing him with Woodgate will be one of biggest mistakes in the champ this season

Replacement of Howe was Tindall. No lower than 6th with him and for some reason they booted him for Woodgate!

It’s certainly the sort of signing the moneyball formula was designed for

I love this “Most direct team in the league”, “they want to make the game ugly”, it’s as thought they’ve heard another manager say it and they go with the same narrative.

It’ll be interesting to see the stats of today’s game, but I’d guess Bournemouth tried the ball over the top more than we did today. Their keeper didn’t try to play around the back, second it’s in his hands bomb it away into our half.

I get the impression these managers are embarrassed to not only lose but get tactically out classed by little teams like Barnsley. Long may it continue. I hope Wycombe plan to defend against the “most direct team in the division” on Wednesday too and we pick them off.

Wycombe will be direct. And Longball. And shithouse. Don't begrudge them though because they unashamedly play to their strengths. If we lose then it s down to us, not them ( No way we're losing though!)

The thing is these guys know how we are going to play and still can’t counter it.
They should be looking at why rather than deflecting back to us.
Reminds me of Leicester, when everyone knew how they played but refused to alter they way they played them until it was too late.

Actually not there any more! Moved back up north a few years ago now but never bothered to change my username.

Used to live in Deptford, then a bit further out in Newbury Park and Woodford - until I gave up on ever being able afford a house in London
