didn't think we would get anything today. Was very impressed. What makes me hopeful (apart from the team's heart/stamina/temperament) is that I think we will out perform Reading between now and the end of the season, so that would mean 2 of the chasing pack would have to overtake us & a lot of them play each other.
We took on a good team today, came from behind and spanked em second half. Five points clear. Ten games left. It's not logical not to believe now.
Bristol City away for me. That's the first time I thought that we were in with a chance of the play-offs. Then it's a lottery.
I'm starting to believe we can make the play offs. We would of course be massive underdogs in the play offs but would we have it any other way?
I don't believe in tempting fate and prefer to go one game at a time, but if we beat Wycombe next Wednesday and Wednesday on Saturday, our levels of optimism must surely become justified.? We need to ensure we win all our home games and strive to pick up points away and see where that's put us after the final whistle against Norwich City in early May. Whatever happens, we've every reason to be proud of this group of lads and can look forward to at least another season in the Championship if nothing else.
I said if we got 7 against Bristol City, Stoke and Millwall then we'd be in with a fighting chance. I've been 100% on Team Optimism since then.
We've got as a favourable run in as you could rightly pick, so an excellent chance all things considered. Plenty of games to go though and football is a funny old game...
I think we all are. As daft as it might sound I thought we played better in the 4-0 defeat against them than we did for the most part today. The difference is we stayed in the game & now we have the quality off the bench to change it in our favour.
