The one thing that got me going and shouting at the tele yesterday. 3-2 up and the ball gets pumped long. Dike chases after giving the centre half 10 yards start, catches him and wins a throw in. Gets up, pumps his chest and shouts out. Celebrated like he'd scored a goal. Loads of passion n certainly pumped for the fight. Awesome team spirit. Wish we could be there next Saturday for the Wednesday game! Well Done Val. YOU REDS.
You could just see the difference in attitude between us and them. Even after they scored they barely celebrated - almost as if they had in their head that they expected to beat us. Think it really rattled them when it started to dawn on them in second half that we weren't just going to lay down like we did in the reverse fixture and that we were just going to keep fighting for everything. Genuinely think this is a game where the character of our boys won it for us. Dike and styles coming on, chasing everything and putting their defenders under massive pressure set the tone for everyone else.
