Could be coming at the wrong time for us after building up so much momentum... doubt Val will let them lose focus but we really need to do without this one! Can we wrap Helik up in cotton wool when he's away too?!
Think it's coming at the right time. 2 weeks to recharge the batteries and maintain that focus for the remaining 8 or 10 games.
I agree. Coming at the right time to give the players a rest and gives VI more training time with the players. When we get to next Saturday, we'll have played 12 games in 38 days
True never thought of that - when you're winning games can't come quick enough. Just hope momentum not lost - as I said don't think it will with Val
Coming at the right time hopefully imo. Get through the next two games unscathed , charge our batteries and press like hell last eight games and see where it gets us. We didn’t do too badly after last break so hopefully lightening strikes twice.
Bournemouth play Swansea Tuesday and no game by looks next weekend??? We could (IF we win both games be 8 points clear of 7th going into the international break.
I agree that the break is coming at the right time. Games keep coming quickly and we play guys patched up such as with tape on their thighs. After the Wednesday match I would keep them away from Oakwell until a week on Monday.
Wigan. Oh forgot. They are not on the international break. Unless they’ve got several international players in the squad. like Moore for example. Oops forgot. he’s not there.
The two Callums should be sent to Lanzarote for two weeks with orders not to move from their sun loungers.
I was thinking the break was well needed looking at our games v Birmingham and Derby. I thought we looked a bit leggy and tired. After playing against a top team who had a week off and seeing our mental focus and energy second half im not so sure now and maybe momentum is better. Now on reflection i think a break will help us. Let the players rest than get to some training which i presume has been limited last few months. Everyones in same boat and intensive Easter to come.
