    I keep reading 'banana skin' and 'the run has to end sometime'. Whilst both of those may be true, they're also phrases that have been used countless times prior to the last 5 or 6 matches.

    Wycombe beat Preston the other day, to end a run of 4 straight defeats. At home, they've won just 4 of their last 15 games (losing 7). Of their 7 victories this season, 5 have been at home. They have the 22nd best home record (we have the 7th best away record).

    We've visited Adams Park just 3 times in our history, with a 1-1-1 record. Our only victory there came courtesy of an Isiah Rankin brace, back in 2003.

    I reckon this will be another of those games, where we keep it tight at the back, and have to work hard to grind out the result. Similar to Bristol City, Birmingham, Millwall and Blackburn in recent memory.

    I'm going for 1-0, with Dike winning the battle of the beasts against Akinfenwa.

    This will be a real tough one. Wycombe another long ball team, they will be decent from set pieces. I don't think there will be many goals in this so I'll go for 1-1. Wycombe catching us out early and Morris with a 2nd half equaliser.

    Standard Barnsley, the one I have watched for years, will not win this one.

    The 1997 team lost at home to Grimsby, who went down.

    Stendel's team towed like fvck at Scunthorpe, and had to come from two down to get a point. Scunthorpe went down. We didn't beat Plymouth at home, who also got relegated.

    But, as much as I am a massive pessimist, and as much as I am trying to keep my heart in my chest, this isn't Standard Barnsley. We'll win. It'll be 'orrible, but we'll win.

    I'm normally ultra-cautious, glass half empty with these and predict the worst. I'm also normally wrong I hope, in that case, that I'm not wrong this time when I say I think we'll coast it. As comfortable as we've had in a long time and a resounding 4-1 win. Sloppy at the end with a Collins rush of blood for their reply.
