    Have you ever known anyone slip on a banana skin? I remember that it seemed to happen quite a lot in the Beano and Dandy, when I was a lad, but I have never heard of it happening in real life. It is very rare even to see a banana skin on the floor, where one might slip on it. Don't worry about banana skins!

    I think the banana skin originally was used as a substitute for something far more slippy and far more smelly. They adopted this so that it could be put in kiddies comics but generally people knew what it meant - or so I am told. I never knew thus when I was a kid.
