https://www.owlstalk.co.uk/forums/topic/299468-swfc-the-poisoned-chalice/ "We should be in the PL with our good years challenging for a CL position, the FA or league cup and in bad years floating above relegation... We shouldn’t be in the championship fighting for survival and dropping into league 1 and enduring pub football...." Massive club y'know
I did point out to my Wednesdayite peers 5/6 years ago if they did nt go up it would end in tears . I even remember owlstalk back then full of posters cheering on the strategy that they d rather go bust trying to get promoted than languishing in the lower tiers . Seems those posters have gone quiet .
One bloke on Radio Sheffield was talking about taking the relegation then coming back stronger straight to the Premier League. They’re so deluded that even in this position they find themselves in they STILL think they’re a PL club. They never learn do they?!
Technically speaking a non-league club can win the Champions League; it's really simple for such a huge club and they should expect it. Just win the FA Cup, qualify for then win the Europa League to qualify for the UCL, then win the UCL the following season. I'm sure a club with the stature of SWFC can do this easily.
The funny thing is that they should be. A club with that kind of resources, big stadium, large fanbase, they should absolutely be able to hold down a Premier League position, and it's hilarious that they are nowhere near.
