Had to laugh when I saw this pop up on my news feed.

Why peddle some eyesight reason when they could have covered their tracks by claiming it was vaccine research related.

Because our government are idiots. Just add it to the long list of stupidity over the past 12 months. Why they couldn't have just been honest I don't know. Why such a secret? People would have accepted vaccine research as a far better reason given.

I suppose that his visit was well prior to any vaccine being delivered so that would have taken a stroke of genius to come up with that excuse.

Having said that, his visit didn't bother me too much TBH, got over sensationalised off the back of a he's a rule maker and not following rules. Bit playground like really. He shouldn't have done it though full stop, but it really shouldn't have taken up the best part of a months news coverage and focus.

Some of my neighbours are far worse. Not followed any form of lockdown advice or law since day 1. Just a law to themselves, parties in the garden, multiple people in the house, let their kids play out throughout yet never send them to school, no facemasks.. Nothing.

Sadly, what this actually represents is the continued tactic by Johnson and his dark arts team to link negative historic press to something completely different, whether neutral or in his favour. Until the negative story is pushed right down in the archives and the positive stories are top of all the search engines.

I think you might be confusing Johnson with the NHS.

That's irrelevant to DePfeffel. He's repeatedly pushed random stories that include very particular search terms linked to his negative press.

Search for Boris Johnson Bus as a prime example.

You mean.... his white coated visits to medical facilities galore.... he did nothing but get in the way and slow down the effort??? I'm shocked. Shocked, I tell you.

I did visit the Bowes Museum in August. An amazing place. I will point out at the time I was not breaking any government guidelines, unlike Cummings. Also visited Middleton in Teesdale & High / Low Force. My only real trip last summer.

Only thing I can give him credit for. Is there are quite a few women are/were willing to share his bed. Can’t be his looks surely. His size 13 shoes I assume. The latest reveal. Nookie on the taxpayer. Privileges of the Mayor of London.
    He is lovely person btw.
Funny how nctu comes out. :)

I think this misses the point a bit.

You’re right: it shouldn’t have been such a big story. They should have been honest, and sacked him, or been honest and not sack him but fronted it out

But bare faced lying from the whole front bench is a massive news story. The whole government closing ranks round an obvious lie to protect a senior advisor is about the biggest political story of my lifetime. There’s no other government in my lifetime that’s done that. The closest I could imagine: Blair might have bent over backward to defend Campbell or Mandelson, but there’s no way he’d have got the party’s support in doing so.

Small p politics is still the biggest news - even though it’s much more important to the news gatherers than to the man in the street.

He was the Mayor! The Lord Mayor is a different thing altogether.

Why do you think he was doing "vaccine research"? I can't see anything suggesting that to be the case.

You're not just buying the magic beans, you're taking them out of the heinz tin, giving them a rinse and then begging someone to sell them to you.
