Until the economic situation hits people in the pocket its no surprise. It's Thatcher all over again but without even the aspirational bit of buying your own council house or "shares" in the nationalised industries.

Despite my warnings on here weeks ago it is now clearly accepted (as per the government plan) that a single jab is "vaccinated". IT IS NOT. None of the vaccines in use in the UK have been designed for or tested for single dose usage. All are for 2 doses, 3 weeks apart.

The actual proportion of the adult population properly vaccinated is under 10% (3.8 million).

Sadly not surprising. The tories will always have power while those that oppose them put the majority of their energy into arguing amongst themselves.

The tories were able to drift further right, into what is effectively a UKIP government, without losing many traditional tory voters. Meanwhile Labour continues to be siloed into "Corbynites", "Blairites", "Tory lite" etc... with people saying they wont vote for anybody that doesn't completely match their ideals. All plays into tory hands, and is depressing to see.

Well if you had voted a Labour goverment the whole country would have been vaccinated by now but you thought the grass was greener didn't you ey!!

Seriously though the 1st jab is 80% effective so that will ease alot of pressure on the NHS with so many had the 1st vaccine.

I wouldn't vote labour, I'm a member of the Green party.

I know that one dose has a reasonable effectiveness (apparently, but no proper trials to back that up) but all the testing and trials were done based on 2 doses.

If memory serves, the Oxford jab was tested for a single dose, but the Pfizer one wasn’t (and Pfizer said as much at the time).
