I think that we ought to enjoy watching Dike play for the Reds whilst we can. The nearest we will get to seeing him play next season will be on Sky or MOTD. He is out of our price range.
What makes them all think that he is even playing.I know he will but it would be funny if he didn’t and they all had a wasted journey.
It doesn't say they are travelling, just that the scouts have been told to "watch on". Are scouts even allowed into grounds nowadays?
Is it me, or is this article basically saying, "someone from Man Utd will probably be watching Sky on Friday evening"? I'm watching the Ice Hockey tomorrow night, but I'm not 'scouting' any of the Sheffield Steelers players.
I've read a host of teams are looking at him Everton, United, Leeds and Newcastle. Can only be good for us as he will be wanting to impress to get the best deal he can. I've resigned myself that even if we go up he won't be with us next season.
Everton and West Ham too..... http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/daryl-dike-interview-with-us-interviewer.303070/#post-2700511 I suspect most of the current Premier League will have him on their short list that they are looking at. I would imagine top flight clubs in a host of top European countries like Germany, Italy, France and Spain will be keeping an eye on him as well.
Call me sceptical, but I'm always a bit dubious of where these fan made websites get their information from. The Man Utd forum itself has a list of 'sources' you're not allowed to post transfer rumours from, because of their poor reputation. In that article, they've said Football League World broke the news of Utd's interest, which is another fan run page, notorious for trying to pass off the writers opinion as fact.
Maybe so but imo clubs are always scouting and with the undoubted talent of Dike I think it’s a lot more than possible that Club scouts of Championship and Premiere league will be taking a large interest . It’s not as though it’s just Barnsley fans raving about his talent it’s all over the Media , mainstream and social so imo it’s probably accurate.
Doesn't this tell us that we should be exercising our right to buy him at the "agreed" sum, then if he wants to move on or some prem club wants him then we, not Orlando, can name our price. The only drawback I can see is if Orlando recall him in April/May on some spurious reason and then sell him themselves. That might be their get out clause, but what do I know.
What of DKs get out clause ? Surely as a human being he doesn’t have to come to Barnsley whatever the clubs have agreed . If his agent has anything about him he’ll be looking at all avenues that benefit them and DK whatever the clubs have agreed .
Let's be honest, we don't have a cat in hells chance of signing Dike permanently. I'm just going to enjoy watching him at Barnsley for the rest of the season. Despite Dane saying we've got a to buy clause in the contract, any PL side would offer way more money to Orlando and could see Dike wanting to go elsewhere. Edit, unless we are a PL team next season
