Without creating enough chances. Not convinced it was a penalty, but can't see what was wrong with the goal from the corner. As good as we are we're still susceptible to a punt over the top. Great control and finish from their lad for the goal, but to let someone run through the centre of the pitch like that is disappointing. Styles had a mad minute: he put one on a plate for them, then spooned it over the bar when he should have hit the target. Let's be right, he should have scored. And then we hit the post. We were much the better side and I really enjoyed the way we played, but I can't say we were much ahead of them when totting up chances and I think we should have been with the way we bossed them.
We've got the style and system to dominate certain teams, we still lack the quality at times to make it count. Consider the improvement made this season from last, in some part down to natural development of young men, if we keep the majority of this squad together, it seems logical to think we'll be better again next season.
Hardly dominated. It was a match to be expected late season in current situation. Definitely a game not to be lost & we didn’t.
Too many key players weren’t at it today, Brittain in particular was poor, as was Woodrow. A point is a fair result.
I just loved them years when we played tippy tappy abart on the floor but may as well have pissed of hooem just after haif time cos game were gone.
I see what he meant Paul. If you look at the areas where the game was played we dominated. You look at the chances and we didn't.
I think our crossing wasn't great at times but I always fealt comfortable that we were in the game and we'd get a result from it. Obviously looked a better side with Morris and Dike second half and possibly Halme.
Britain wasn't that that bad, problem was we always looked the most likely to score throughout the game but we gave the 2 great chances anderson the 1st one in the 1st half and styles in the 2nd half. We were fortunate they couldn't finish.
Personally (not having watched, I don't mind paying £10 to the club via iFollow but I refuse to pay sky via nowtv) I'm delighted with a point. To be in 5th place at this stage of the season is beyond mine and most other Reds fan's wildest dreams. Well done to Val and the lads.
We clearly did. There was a graphic in the fist half that showed the average position of Reading players, not one in our half. But as I said, didn't create the chances to reflect that dominance.
Agree. Didn’t look like a $20 million man today. Maybe the busy schedule has caught up with him. Still a handful though.
I would like to think we dominated, but even my rose tinted specs, can’t agree. It was an even match & fair result. Stats can be misleading. We had double shots on goal, but they missed two golden chances.
At the risk if being a happy clapper: We had more possession than the opposition. We had more chances than the opposition. We had more shots on target than the opposition. We worked harder than the opposition. I personally wouldn't take more than one of their players into our first eleven based on today's performance. We are still 5th. Even if Bournemouth win their game in hand, it's Reading who drop our of the top 6. I'm on the spiced rum. That is all.
