Football fans, eh. I was sat watching People Just Do Nothing on Netflix the other day. My other half, who is from down Hertfordshire, asked if Brentford was a real place. She thought it was made up for the show.
The town might exist, but the football team is debatable. Sometimes they exist, sometimes they don't. They're non-existent when they play us.
I think Thomas Frank is a good manager. And when they play well they play really attractive football. They've had some injury woes though and I'm not sure that the expectations of the fans and media has helped either. Their forum seems to be a bit more realistic about things though. Most remember the league 1 days.
I think the problem with Brentford is that they are drilled (no pun intended ) to play one way, possession based football. Now teams are setting up to counter that and they are struggling a little. Still look likely for the playoffs but I guess their primary aim was one of the automatic places before the season started. I think Thomas Frank has done a decent job there but struggled elsewhere as a manager. He will clearly see out the season but wouldn't be surprised to see him move on should they fail to go up.
There’s a percentage of fans at every club that goes against the grain . Sometimes when you get ten or twenty posts (or phone calls to radio shows ) it seems as though it’s the majority. There was one texter on radio Sheff wanting Wilders head weeks ago and when he had the audacity to mutually walk the same texter was fuming he was walking out on them . The presenters didn’t point this out but just read them , probably weren’t aware it was the same poster .
I don't want to be funny but before we condemn an entire fan base, we're talking about 6 people. I would suggest they are possibly not representative of Brentford fans.
We've got "fans" on Twitter who were doing the same 6 months ago. Twitter is just a cess pit for trolls.
I know that mate. No ones saying otherwise. Still find peoples opinions interesting though, especially when they want to sack the manager while they’re sat in 3rd place in the league. I thought it worth mentioning, but obviously not everyone’s cup of tea.
Sorry mate. Didn't intend it as a go at you. I just don't like Twitter as a platform. Came off it years back because of trolls and feel better for it.
