They are all on the praise list and all equally as important parts as a whole but pick just one of the following for a school type special mention and why? Conway and Lee for bringing in Dane and having the plan. Dane decisions made appointing Val and bringing Dike in. Recruitment team for Helic, Brittain, Anderson, Morris etc Val and staff for the motivation, fitness and playing style Players for the commitment and talent shown. My vote is for Dane, his input has been pivotal in the success, if GG was still here would the same direction have been taken, for me Danes decisions have had the most impact.
Valerien Ismael, for getting the best out of the players and motivating them. His tactics, formations and knowledge are on another level to what we've ever had before. Without him we wouldn't be where we are today. The guy is immense and I love him.
I'm not sure if it was just Conway and Lee that were responsible for bringing Dane in, but my vote would be for whoever was responsible for bringing him on board. He might not be everyone's cup of tea, but he's currently presiding over a team that is sniffing at the prem. I know that Val is getting the best out of the players but without Dane we (probably?) wouldn't have have Val and most of our best performing players. To be honest, it's a team effort, we are where we are cos of the machine not one cog so please ignore my first three sentences
Alex Mowatt. The driving force for us on the pitch for a number of seasons and now a true great Barnsley captain.
No "I" in team.....all round team effort, including the people behind the match day highlights. Everything over the last 2 seasons has got better
All of the above. But also the supporters for renewing membership, and others with enormous support which encourages the board to invest when financially it must be very difficult to run any business. VI especially, to leave his family and do what he has.
What about the rugbyites? If it wasn't for them Rev Preedy wouldn't have been pissed off enough to start a football team.
There was probably some hairy bloke in a cave up on Emley moor 10,000 years ago as well. Never gets a mention.
