Hope you’ve left Sheila Furgason for me. ( one for us oldies) £6.4K league 1 or 2. £320 per season up front. For 19 seasons remaining. Marvellous.
Boredom i should imagine but lets face it they deserve all they get, should have been relegated before now. But we've been through all that before.
To be fair to the pigs I feel that for the first time in my lifetime and thats over 40 years they now realise that they are no longer a big club, footballs moved on. For years they have clung to the 90s, a lot of remarks on their board now commenting how they haven't been in the top flight for 20 years - its a long time, small/medium sized clubs have now bypassed them and become bigger clubs. Their academy is streets behind most, they haven't produced much for years, kids around this area go to the blades or us. Their stadium - once one of the biggest in the country, hosting FA Cup semi finals hasn't evolved like everyone else's, its stuck in 1990 and now become a rusty eye sore. I used to hear my grandad telling me about great teams in the 50s, 60s etc Blackpool, Stoke - I'd look at the current league tables and think wow how were they in Cup finals top flight etc... and hope deep down that has a grandfather l could sit my grandchildren down one day and say "lads in the 90s those pigs down the road were once a big club..." the Grandkids would piss themselves and remark "Gi'oer Grandad they're in Conference North now and playing at Sheffield FC since that owner sold their ground years ago" I'd sit back in my chair, take a tug on my pipe and remark "aye lads, tha reyt, the Wednesday ********."
Some Wednesday fans are so desperate to show they don't care about us, that they in fact come across as desperately caring about us
My sentiments too. Went to school in penistone from 1980 onwards and it felt like three quarters plus followed Wednesday instead of Barnsley. They were always our main rival as a result.
Do you get a job at MI5 if you solve it? I can't make head nor tail of any of it. 10 year season ticket - 15 seasons minimum?
