Surely you've all seen these. You can ask questions about places, shops etc on Google, and 'local experts' answer them for you. Local experts will answer though, regardless of whether they know the answer or not. For example: Oakwell Stadium: Q) Hello will the club shop be open this Saturday to get shirt? A) Was open yesterday for sales. No idea about Saturday Q) How much is coach parking as bringing a coach for game on April 14th .Do we need to book in? A) Not a clue. Came by train. Barnsley Metrodome: Q) Why weren't we informed that the gym is closed? A) No idea pal Locke Park: Q) What time does the fireworks start and end? A) I'm sorry, I do not know. Q) is there a height barrier on the car park? A) Yes can't remember the exact height I am just fascinated by it. I love how people have a need to respond to these things, even when they don't know the answer
They do it lots on products on Amazon. I'm assuming they get something for responding X amount of times maybe?
Oh, don't even get me started on product reviews on Amazon: GREAT PRODUCT WORKS REALLY WELL ONLY PROBLEM POSTMAN DELIVERED TO MY NEIGHBOUR WHO I AM IN A FEUD WITH AND I HAD TO GO ROUND AND SPEAK TO THEM!!!! ONE STARS
PRIZES!!! They're actually for your ranking on Google local guides, more points means you level up. I guess it's just the status of it really
So the more you reply "Dunno pal" the more of an expert you become. I could clean up. There's loads I know nowt about.
On Amazon it’s because the questions get emailed directly to people who have bought the product and so people feel the need to reply as they think they have been asked personally by the potential buyer.
I thought it would be something like that. Labelling them a 'local expert' for saying "sorry pal, I've no idea" 200 times seems a bit of a stretch though.
The Argos ones are pretty good too. Someone will ask a question, an actual Argos employee will reply with the correct answer, and then someone else will reply with a contradicting answer. It makes for great reading.
This with bells on. I know it's cruel but I do chuckle at those who have given nonsensical answers blissfully unaware that they have done so publicly for the whole world to see.
I saw one like this recently on Amazon. OMG THIS ITEM IS PERFECT IN EVERY WAY. I CANT BELIEVE I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT ONE FOR SO LONG!!! IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE!!!!! - 4 stars
