Can't believe how football in the top flight has changed, VAR, definitely not for the better. I would love to win promotion just to be able to do it, but having to have VAR, never knowing when we are to play a match as fixtures at the whim of Sky and Bt sport, barely on Saturday at three, fewer games. It's not all rosey. We would be in a different financial market and thats not bode well for many clubs in the past. I watch football because I enjoy the whole experience of matchday, meet up with friends, a pint etc and the joy and frustration of watching us win or lose. I would be more than happy if we could just take the 150 odd million to do up the ground improve facilities and stay where we are as a viable competitive club. It's not all about playing the so called big boys or being part of that clique. You can have just as much fun if not more at Accrington' or Blackpool Fleetwood away as any game in the so called top flight. Look at Sheffield United this Season. No joy there at the minute.

70% of games played Sunday/Monday. Football was meant to be 3 o’clock Saturday.

I'd like us to do it so my lad gets the chance to experience similar highs and lows as I did in 97/98. Character building.

Talking to my father in law the other day Leeds season ticket holder for which he pays a small fortune each season. He said the same - will probably stop going soon for these reasons re times of games.

For me, if we can get up I hope the money can be invested into the long term future of the club and stop us yoyo-ing between L1 and the championship.

When fans are back there will be more Saturday 3pm kick offs. Haven’t they just spread them out now due to covid and giving fans chance to watch more games (more advertising money). I think the late one on saturdays and Sundays will be knocked on the head.

    It’s the other way round.
380 games in PL, 110 at start of season were scheduled for non Saturdays, admittedly some may have been moved but not the majority.

Although as you have probably gathered I'm a bit of a traditionalist about matchdays and grounds, varying kick off times and games does mean that more people can watch given the shifting patterns of work to a 24 hour 7 days a week timetable.

Having said all that, I love the weekends and football at 3 pm on a Saturday does feel right.

    Sky scheduling meeting.
    "Next. Barnsley v Burnley?"
    "3pm, February 29th"
"But it's not a leap year"
    "That's right."

Talking of very old, BFC Stats (who does a fabulous job) on Twitter found what could be the oldest reference to “teams like Barnsley” from 1900. We’d only been in the league two years and it had started.

Think we would need to treat it more as an investment opportunity than a football season. We would probably enjoy parts of it. But we could use the money to sort the stadium issues out and fill in the corners and a build a new west stand. No point chucking too much money at a doomed attempt to stay on the Prem. a new social club would be nice. Too. We need a 21st century ground.

Gotta get there first which with Bournemouth hitting form will be no mean feat
