Sat outside my local, two grown men chatting, one an Owl asked the other if he'd be 'going back to Oakwell' if we were promoted. The other chap replied 'No, I think I'm a Blade now'. Owl was in his 40s, 'Blade' in his 30s. How do you get into to your 30s without firmly deciding who you actually support? More's the point, who would consciously choose to be a Blade?
My mate has supported 3 clubs in the last 10 years... Started off Leeds then followed Middlesbrough and now he's got a Bradford season ticket.
No he just likes to jump on the band wagon... Was a Leeds fan during Ridsdale era then went to Boro when they started doing ok in Europe and then jumped on to Bradford when they made the league Cup final.
I dont understand people who swap teams like they change their shirts. I can understand watching another side when you cant get to watch your first team but its never the same. though in some ways its fun to go to watch other sides can be quite enjoyable as you are never so stressed when they lose ( but the converse is that you dont get the same buzz when they win)
In that case I'm very surprised he's happy watching fourth division footy what with Leeds back in the top flight.
