    We won the FA Cup for the first time by absolutely hammering West Bromwich Albion 1-0 in a replay at Bramall Lane.
    It took barnsley66 & I ages to get to the match. There were no buses at the time for the fans, you know, so it was a bit of a walk! :D

    I sat in the West Stand (Ponty End side) until the 1981/82 season. :D

    In all fairness, mate, they have replaced the long, wooden benches with individual seats. :D

    and we had a Home game against Chelsea the day after as well! Talk about too many games today.... tut tut :D:D:D

    errrm, sorry to interrupt old chap, but the replay was on the 24th April 1912 when we won the FA Cup. The original game was on the 20th April. I'll go back to stand in the corner now :)

    I reckon they just sawed the benches into individual seats and added some swivel hinges. Pretty sure the last time I was up there, there was still a Health & Safety warning on the way in, about the dangers of splinters in your nether regions.

    I can remember when I was very young sitting on my granddads’s knee whilst he regaled me about Harry Tuffnell scoring in the replay and how he’d walked all the way to Bramall Lane and back home. Apparently he didn’t pass a pub on the way back without calling in

    20th April was the date of the first game at Crystal Palace. We actually won the Cup in the replay, 4 days later, on the 24th April 1912. I have just checked this. I have always remembered it, because 24th April is my wife's birthday.

    My Grandfather was there and he told me he walked to Sheffield with his 2 brothers as a 17-year-old and how his mother made them go in their pit clogs as not to wear out their only pair of shoes.
