President of Real Madrid chairman of the Superleague. "Whenever there is a change, there are always people who oppose it. We are doing this to save football at this critical moment," Perez said on Spanish TV show El Chiringuito de Jugones. "Audiences are decreasing and rights are decreasing and something had to be done. We are all ruined. Television has to change so we can adapt." Eff all to do with you greedy b'stds then. Paying out of control wages and taking the game away from the working man. Even blaming covid for a loss of income. Still paying exorbitant fees. Wages etc. You've created a monster. Paul Warne put it right. It's not the smaller clubs who have created this greedy mess. But You cnuts. Fcku off into the wilderness. Where you belong. No forgiveness. Hefty punishments should be dished out to these clubs.
They won't tho, they'll breathe a collective sigh of relief and carry on as tho nowt happened, until it all kicks off again.
The issue that the so called big 6 have now is that they appear have no bargaining chip with Sky or BT for more money, in fact I would say that both those networks hold all the cards now.
PL should relegate all 6 of them as a punishment. Doubt there will be any sanctions tho, they're as self serving as the rest of them
Now is the time for legislation and change of rules regards fit and proper owners imo . Legislation that a percentage of shares to fan led groups and better rules for fit and proper checks on owners with the caveat that if they try to go against the rules sanctions such as money held as deposits (compulsory ) be forfeited . See how fast and loose they play when their own moneys at stake .
Should all be in the table, a maximum number of players you can have, fairer distribution of TV money, ownership the lot!
The big 6 (f***K me big 6) should be demoted to the conference league for bringing the game into disrepute.
don’t be kidded sky, BT and Amazon didn’t want it, the clubs wouldn’t have gone ahead without a clear indication of a broadcast partner proving cash
I don't get it. I mean they must have known the kind of reaction this was going to evoke. Weren't they prepared for what was coming? I mean if you know what your doing is going to be unpopular, then you put your head down, dig your heels in and fight your corner. These lot seem almost to be surprised by the backlash.
I think they didn't forsee that they would get kicked out of their leagues or that their players wouldn't get to play in international competition.
I think it’s all been a big con. The new champions league format was announced the day after, they were putting a shot across the bows of the powers that be. Fan power is a long way behind money power, somewhere along the line they will have reaped some benefits. For me they have all backed down too easy for it to have been a serious proposition. Maybe they were just testing the water and a revised version will appear in the not too distant future.
