I wondered why he and his party were supporting the fans on the ESL scandal . It was just to bury bad news again , crocodile tears , hoping to drown out the sleaze.
I'd love to see where he supported any Tory MP who broke the ministerial code what a strange thing to say.
And still think it is. As are all the other points on that list. And let's be fair, DePfeffel has done many things that warrant his removal. Making up race reports, trying to suppress the Russia report and paracuhte his own chair, the Arcuri affair, fraud and lies to cover it up. The mare he had with corona virus. Whipping up violence in NI due to his lies over brexit. And of course, the corruption, collusion, obfuscation and mass fraud of paying tory donors eye watering sums with zero scrutiny. And thats just without thinking about what he's gotten up to!
A cross party group came together to call for an enquiry into DePfeffels repeated lies in parliament (think it was a twitter journo who'd put a showreel of lies together). Starmer didn't back it and a spokesperson said it was following a long line of Labour not supporting things raised outside of the official opposition. But people can't criticise Starmer for such if they aren't willing to say Corbyn did precisely the same multiple times.
I know about this its not just Starmer its party policy. It's all a bit pathetic saying Labour aren't an opposition they have been all over this as they have everything the government have fallen short on. It all looks a bit like sour grapes from some now Corbyn has gone.
Yes he handled that half wit very well I thought. Do you agree with the points that were aggresively made?
I don't disagree re the cronyism. I thought his performance in last weeks PMQs was really good. So much so, it hardly featured on the news. Funny that. Having said that, I've not been enthused with his first year at all. Turning his back on pro EU voters from the get go wasn't very wise, but who knows what the mood will be in another 3 years when we get the next GE.
Upto February Starmer was polling level or in front of Johnson so he was doing something right. The vaccine rollout has been good for the tories but they seem to be unraveling a bit now with new revelations of corruption and dodgy deals almost daily.
I'm not interested in commenting on any lists of what Boris has or has not done. Politicians in general by the fact that they do what they do I find to be largely self-serving, one way or another. With regard to getting ventilators sorted, seems to me there was a need to try and get something done in a crisis. Nothing in it for Boris except an outcome in the interests of such as you and me. So to hold that up as a without doubt resigning issue in itself seems excessive. You don't - fair enough.
Nobody has mentioned Corbyn, until you have. Jeremy stood down. Over a year ago now. He is long gone. If any time someone critiques this current Labour opposition, they're going to be met with 'but Corbyn' forever and a day, I think it says a lot more about this current Labour setup and its supporters than it does those of us who voted for Labour in the last GE.
some things he's done ok, some things he's been very keen to avoid and be ethereal, others he's been poor. And the pandemic isnt helping either. But he chose to come out and say they wouldn't go back into the EU. I can't vote for an anti EU party and I know a lot of people feel the same.
I'm not sure he's anti EU he has recognised however that for now that debate is over. There is scope to amend parts in 2024 so it may be a topic of discussion before the next GE.
I agree that many politicians are self serving. Though some do into politics genuinely to serve and try and help people, I read a great book a few years back, "Why we get the wrong politicians"... worth a read. Sure, nothing to benefit dePfeffel at all. Do a favour, call in a favour. We only have to look at Cameron and the Greensill lobbying to show back scratching carries forward over years. If it was all above board, why not do it publicly for all? The pandemic is yet again just another convenient excuse to circumvent systems and explain away cronyism and mass fraud.
Labour was briefly ahead of the Conservative Party in November of last year. They've fallen back, week by week, ever since and are now averaging around 10 points behind.
No I am fairly sure they didnt and you are right there are far bigger stories that a sizeable part of the country seem to not care about - presumably the same part that gets all outraged at the potential cost of housing a few refugees fleeing from a country we helped destabilise
