    It’s the weekend! And what a glorious day! I have just been for a brisk morning walk and am now sitting in the orangery with a freshly ground coffee, Ethiopian blend. Marvellous.

    I am hoping for a comprehensive victory today from the lads. Daryl and Carlton are two big strapping boys and I think they will prove too much for a hard working Rotherham team.

    I’m hoping to use my new smoker later this afternoon, if the sun holds out and wouldn’t it be wonderful if I could celebrate its virgin outing with a victory in the football.

    Interested to know what you're planning to smoke, George. My in-laws are also keen foragers, and last time I accompanied them I picked up some wild mushrooms, a few windfall apples, and half a badger from the side of the road. Hopefully you found similar treasures on your morning walk.
