Ouch - hope he's alright. Was very surprised we got given that goal! The amount of soft fouls refs give the keeper for attempting a challenge is ridiculous these days, but I think this was actually a foul
We’ve had at least 2 perfectly good goals disallowed because the opposition keeper was felled by their own player, so it’s definitely a case of ‘you win some, you lose some’, but it still doesn’t feel right.
The sort of decision that went against us last season, and the sort of decision that goes against you when you're down the bottom. Best wishes to the lad.
Best wishes to him Goal should not have stood The kind of goal that goes against you when you’re down there good luck Rotherham
Morris using his arm as leverage like everyone does. As some others have said, luck evens out over the season and we’ve certainly had our share today. Let’s hope it doesn’t go the other way for the playoff games.
Meanwhile, at the opposite end of the pitch, Brad Collins reminds me of when I used to take my lad to the park, with a football. I used to encourage him to slam it past me, to boost his confidence, but every time, I just caught it with a ‘try harder next time, son’ smug grin on my face. Collins makes keeping goal look THAT easy. ....and, having said that, I am also a big fan of Walton.
Defo a foul on goalie.....in a way it set us back because really on front foot and hard at them in first few minutes..... we were never on it after goal, maybe complacency?.....fair play to Rotherham though they deserved something from game
Morris clearly out jumps their keeper. Far stronger in the challenge. Keeper gets 2 inch off the ground great goal. Unfortunately the keeper was injured, unusual for the goal to be given but the ref considered it was a fair attempt to win the ball which it was, end of.
I think we clung on after the goal because our players thought it shouldn't have stood. Maybe they got buyers remorse. It's strange but when sumats on your mind like that it can effect your performance. Just look at Morris when he'd scored he didn't celebrate straight away. Looked at the linesman, shrugged his shoulders and then belatedly celebrated. It reminded me of Hendries apologetic celebration v Man Utd in 98. I agreed with Paul Warne. His team have endured some shocking decisions and it can give you the feeling that the authorities don't want you there. I live near the Rotherham mascot and he was seething the other day that the linesman and referee were on named terms with the Middlesbrough players and having banter. It reminded me of Sheridan's account of our Premiership season. Glad we won but feel for Rotherham.
