Bl00dy hell. I wasn’t saying I was stating historical fact - just giving an opinion! I thought we were entitled to that on this site. I don’t need you to agree with me, nor am I seeking to change your own views. But go on then, I’ll defend my own position, though that does feel a little odd, what with this being a Reds fans site. The use of the term ‘natural order’ was/is a dig, but yes, I expect us to be, or ambitious enough to be, above Worsborogh MW. I also expect us to be higher than Harrogate Town and Rotherham Utd (I could name a host of other Clubs - most Clubs in the English Leagues in fact). I would be pleasantly surprised to be above Liverpool or Arsenal (even though they cheated their way into the top Division at our expense) The reason I hold those views in relation to Rotherham is because: - we were formed 40 years before them and achieved quite a bit before they were a twinkle in Barry Chuckles eye. - they didn’t get out of the basement division until the 1950s - historically, and in very recent history, their attendances have been poor/pathetic, even though the Town is bigger than Barnsley. (Ditto Doncaster). - we’ve spent more seasons at this level than any other team in English football history. So for those reasons and more, I think (opinion) that we should be higher than them. Don’t confuse that with ‘we have a right to be higher than them’. Not that would be Wednesday. It’s not what I’m saying.
That's a well-constructed argument, but I'm with Keith Hill. Footballing history adds no points in the current season. I agree that we should be higher than Harrogate Town, though.
How opinions work: You’re perfectly entitled to your opinion so am I And whilst you were just spouting yours, and not expecting to overrule anyone or change anyone’s mind. Neither was I.
Really hope they stay up. I was impressed with them today, they reacted really well to the goal (better than we did) and with a little more luck they would have got a draw. Having said that, Collins was outstanding today. The journey he’s been on this season is incredible.
I thought they deserved a point against us at their place & deserved all 3 yesterday. I hope they stay up & think deserve to off the few games I’ve seen of them
It wasn’t luck they needed, it was some ability in front of goal. Smith had a glorious chance in the first half but took an age with it, and the less said about Ladapo the better.
