Liam Moore at Reading, and the best young Championship talent (depending on price tag). No need to blow loads of cash on fees and wages. Give them a good wage, but dangle a carrot based on performance. Reckon due to Covid, should we pull off the miracle we could get some bargains.
I think we desperately need a creative midfielder to sit alongside Mowatt. Somebody who can pick a nice pass under pressure would make a huge difference to the way we play, and hopefully cut down the number of hopeful balls wafted forward. Romal Palmer might be that in time, but not yet. I guess a player that can do that and also keep up with the press won't come cheap though.
Whoever we bring in then we need at least 3 players with prem experience. Even tho it was 24 years ago, if we’d have had the Wards & Fjortoft from the start plus another couple of experienced prem players we would have stayed up. Prem is no different in terms of that now. Sheff Utd needed to add experience this season as they rode the crest of a wave the season before. They paid loads and bought crap this season. 20m on Brewster was it?
Absolutely. I would like to see Adam Armstrong brought back too. He deserves a shot at the top flight.
If we went up. Could see us recruiting players like Brandon Williams on loan from man utd. Josh King free as he only had a short term contract at Everton. And maybe cough up a couple of million on 2 or 3 more players. Would change our future as we build a steady ship. Up the reds
We've got a very young squad, I would go for some older heads with prem experience who are near the end of their careers to help bring on the younger guys, but who aren't asking stupid money wages.
As much as i love Hourihane, im not sure he has whats needed now for a prem season. Watching him today he looked ok on the ball but struggled out of possesion. He is 30 years old now. If for no other reason i would love us to go up just to see how and who we recruit.
