I'm not afraid of any of the other three teams. We're capable of beating all of them, home or away and even at Wembley. Likewise, they can all beat us as well. The number of points we've all accumulated would tend to back that up. I feel more relaxed going into these Play Offs than I did in 2000 & 2006.
I think it’s impossible to predict. The chances are we won’t get the last promotion spot but that applies to all 4 sides. Look how close the points are 1 point between us with 2 games to go In the run in Bournemouth have been the form team with us in second best form. Brentford and Swansea have limped over the line so I’d say we were second favourite after Bournemouth. But we all know anything can happen. Also there is far less pressure on us than the others that may well be in our favour
Not sure about relaxed lil. but I understand all else. We have just as good a chance as any of the others. I think our lads will be relishing the opportunity. And in a pressure pot situation for all concerned. It becomes a level playing field.
I bet none of the other 3 teams want to play Barnsley they will have to change their style of play to face us remember we have beat Norwich, Watford, Bournmuff and Brentford the 4 big hitters this season. But whatever happens, we are back as a top Championship team.
No chance. I’ll be devastated if we don’t get up. I’m amazed some are so relaxed. There’s a bit of a view from some that we’ve got solid foundations and we can kick on next year! Yeah right. That’s just how professional football usually doesn’t work and I think our 1 season in the top flight in 130 years is testament to that. If we don’t make it I would have a wild guess that this side gets broken up. But most of all I want that promotion because I’ve seen these young lads work their nuts off for 46 (at times) gruelling games. Their energy and courage has been amazing, so falling over now? Inconceivable. Of course it might happen. I’m not daft enough to suggest otherwise. But we (and more importantly they) should go into these play offs with the highest levels of confidence, and we should take it from wherever we can. Bournemouth. Great individual players, but there’s no team spirit (watch when they score a goal and three players celebrate!) I’m also hoping having a joke of a Coach does for them as well. Talk about falling on your feet. He couldn’t coach Darfield Rd under 10s. Turned us over with something in hand at a Oakwell but we did something similar at their own ground and that was far more recent. Swansea. We’ve never looked comfortable against them this season but they have been showing relegation form for a while now and can’t seem to get out of it. Oh, and we always beat them in the Play offs! Brentford. Seriously!! If we beat them for a third time, do we get to keep them - like a World Cup trophy? They must hate us. We destroy their dreams every time we play them. So, nothing to fear here. Come on boys, one last effort.
I'm brave enought to say it, but not daft enough. After 7 games I thought our fate was sealed. Approaching half-way I thought we had more than a good chance of safety. After beating Blackburn in a proper 6-pointer, I thought there was a sniff of a play-off push (we have taken 38 points since that game, Blackburn have taken 14) When we got to the play-off positions, I wasn't sure we'd stay there but elated we'd given ourselves a chance. Play-offs now guaranteed. I can't get hung up about 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th, cos what follows is 3x form-out-the-window individual cup finals. Do I think we WILL pull it off? Probably not. Do I think we CAN pull it off? Absof00kinglutely. Anyone can beat anyone. Bring it on.
Even though the lads have given thier all this season, I think even they will have that extra spring in thier step after what they have achieved. Even money the field for me.
Our lads are young, hungry and on the verge of potentially changing their lives. We've got quality and potential match winners in abundance with Styles, Brittain, Mowwatt, Dike, Morris and (Odour), Rocks at the back in Mads and Helik and possibly the best manager we've ever had in Big Val, all we need now is lady luck and anything is possible.
I think Val is best manager we've ever had. Good man management, wants to win, tactics, right substitutions. He brings a big club mentality that we've not had before. I think he'll be on a reight bonus, if he gets us up!
