Scowen was a spreadsheet signing signed weeks before Wilson left and when he was very under pressure.

We beat Gillingham at home 3-2 not 4-1. Alot of embarrassing displays and results, getting hammered away at walsall and port vale, Notts County at home mk dons at home, away at donny was one of the most boring games of football ever, we were lucky in the cup to get a draw with non league chester at oakwell. Middlesbrough in the Cup was another embarrassing game where we failed to have a shot on goal. When he left in feb we hadn't won a away game since November.... I fail to see many positives if any from that 2nd spell. Some signings maybe but wilson has done interviews since saying he didn't agree with crynes under 25 spreadsheet approach.

Also losing to Crawley Town was up there with the most embarrassing performances I've seen.

Why wouldn't they go for Stendel if they could? Actually think DW would be a good appointment, too.

Wilson had an impossible task second time around - the squad he took over was poor, no pace, long on quantity and short on quality (repeating the observation made by Nicky Eaden). Reminds me of Alan Clarke's second spell - often derided but in my book his achievement in repairing the club's finances and improving playing standards was not given the recognition it deserved. Danny was pretty poorly treated by Patrick and I hope he gets back in and does well.

Yeah I was getting it mixed up with the Colchester game that season where we won 3-2. I stand by the rest of it

He had been in charge 6 months before we went down cant blame him for the relegation but he had long enough to turn it around. He then went to Chesterfield and help them on there way. Should have never come back imo not done much since our promotion to the Premiership.

Danny Wilson as a manger was finished over a decade ago, he is a dinosaur & should never have been allowed to come back to tarnish his reputation. That period was one of the most dour & depressing times of being a Barnsley fan.

And then little LeeJay came along, don’t get me started on him!

I heard it was young Cryne insisting he came as he was top of his spreadsheet , think Wilson was looking at his strike Partner Paddy ?

Think it was qpr away under Danny in his second spell and we had Paul Digby as our attacking player . Terrific in first stint as manager , too negative in second spell

In Danny's defence, he had Neil Redfearn and John Hendrie at his disposal the first time. He had Martin Woods and Marcus Pedersen the second time.

Go on then which of the rest of it is wrong? All the embarrassing performances? The fact that wilson didn't agree with crynes under 25 policy? Some of the worst, negative, turgid football I've ever seen at oakwell that 2nd spell.

Like I said I got the Gillingham game mixed up with the match we played v Colchester that season i stand by the rest of it.

I remember a 0-1 loss against Burnley, when we were getting relegated.

Wilson had one tactic: the long diagonal to O'Grady's nut. It didn't work in minute one, and it still didn't work in minute 91. Grim.
