Thought for a few weeks now that they would escape. Don't think Rotherham will win again (unfortunately) so all they have to do is win the last game.
If Rooney manages to get that Derby side relegated from where they were he never ought to get another manager’s job. Bet he does though......
Just reading about his appointment earlier; when he took charge of his first game, he hadn't managed or coached any team, at any level before. No junior side, or reserves, or youth team...Nothing whatsoever. And yet handed that role on **** knows how much money......it genuinely beggars belief.
Another example of how crazy football is these days. We'd be furious if the BFC board had set him on as our manager, and rightly so.
I'm telling ya the Piggies will stay up.... but if Rooney prevents this then we should pay for and erect a statue to him ........... out side the Swillsbro Kop.....
Look the the players he’s got. Lawrence was/is one of the best midfielders in this league. Byrne is one of the best wingbacks outside the premier league. Waghorn, bags of experience and goals at this level. The list goes on and on and on. if shrek gets Derby relegated then that should be his managerial career over with! The media have given him one helluva easy ride too, constantly blaming the proposed takeover, claiming he’s working under one of the tightest budgets and so on. Wednesday will stay up, my heart wants Rotherham to stay up because I’ve got a soft spot for them. They’re one of those clubs that are persistently mocked by the media, opposing fans and so on. They’re punching well above their weight, and fair play to em. Cmon millers!
Or even done his coaching badges, But he's got "football intelligence" and that obviously is all you need!
He's taken Derby from the edge of the playoffs to the edge of the relegation zone in less than 18 months! Aaah, but he's not had much money to spend though
I think he was a player-coach under Cocu but that’s nowhere near enough experience to land the Derby gig. I’m not sure if Lampard had any experience before he got their job either. At least Gerrard had the Liverpool young uns before moving to Rangers.
Lampard started his coaching badges whilst a player at Chelsea, so at least he was going down right route when appointed.
yep and at the start of lockdown March 2020, they were only 5 points off the playoffs (with Rooney as player coach)
Using his "vast" amount of coaching skills he's got, that's my point. I stand by my original statement that he's taken them from the verge of the playoffs to the verge of relegation
