Some things never change do they? Condescending *****. Also - Who exactly are the “has-beens” in our squad?
They may have got a couple of details wrong but the sentiment is well meaning, we are lets face it a team of bargain basementers that have massively over achieved this season, they are just giving us credit where its due and saying heres one in the eye for the massives and Billy big b*****ks clubs, great i think....
Too many disparaging remarks about our players shows a real lack of research. I thought Chaplin was on loan at Coventry. Didn't we sign him from Pompey? As usual the tabloid press are guilty of very lazy "journalism", if indeed it warrants that description. I would prefer no publicity to articles like this one.
Sorry but that's verging on a Millwall type response. Don't forget we could be everyone's "Second-favourite Premiership Team" again next season!
That's right. We were after him when we in L1, but he decided to sign for Coventry. When we got promoted back to the Championship, we went back in for him and he signed for us
No we bought him from Coventry Feel sorry for the Cs though, they found the most unflattering photos of them! Poor Toby too, he only didn't play at Hearts and Oestende cos he was still recovering from glandular fever not cos he was seen as rubbish!
Thought it was a good piece , forget the stretching of the truth regarding players ages etc , the point of the article is to highlight the " Have"s & the Have not"s of football, the divide between the premier league & its elite club & the also rans , our fans are too sensitive & are looking for something thats not there because it comes from a paper that most of us don"t care for it doesn"t make it a bad read , well done to the writer , I like it .
I didn’t know which paper it was from - but I could tell it was a national with how uninformed it sounds. It’s clearly not written for us and that’s fine - but it could do without the stereotypes and guesswork. If that makes me sound like a Millwall supporter then ROOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRRRR
Agreed. I don't particularly like the style of writing, but the overall message is very much how you've described it.
