Lost my faith in the British electorate a while ago. All I can do is have the satisfaction that the lying, cheating Tory fek wits who look after themselves and the upper echelons of society whilst pillocking the ordinary person that they have their best interests at heart, has never had, and will never get my vote.

Of course other parties have their faults. But compared to 'Boris' and his band of thieves, they're martyrs.

We live in a truly dystopian present.
Back in the 80s, I hated Thatcher with a passion. I'd have her back in place of these nutters in a breath.

Quite right. Vote Green for a sustainable future. The alternative is unsustainable and no future.

A majority voted for Brexit, whether it turns out to be a good or bad decision, but Labour and the Lib Dems looked like they wanted to overturn, re-run or dismiss that referendum and a lot of people were angry with that, plus being told they were too thick to understand the implications of leaving. The Tories were given the task of implementing Brexit, Covid19 has got in the way, possibly to Clownman's benefit. Labour need to think what they are about and start coming up with policies people will buy into. I don't mind Starmer, I think he is in the wilderness years at the moment - I hope so anyway! I'd like proportional representation myself; make every vote count.

Equal footing I'd say, well Lib Dems anyway. I'd consider them less trustworthy than the Tories.

Looking at the local elections in my ward. Same failed candidates as in other council elections.
But then again most folk in Barnsley refuse to accept they are allowed to vote for anybody apart from Labour so even if there was another party with fresh ideas it would be Labour hold, don't have to do anything deserve it sorta thing.

Especially in the local council elections, I'm all for independent candidates who live in their ward and want the best for the people there. We have nobody standing which is saddening.
Green party candidate last time out (same person) responded to my question of what he considers the hotspots in the ward / Barnsley with the answer 'He didn't know' Hence I crossed him off the list. Lib Dems didn't respond, Labour just quoted their pamphlet which is far too generic, same with Tories.

The people I quoted in the original post seem ignorant of the fact that as Johnson is a liar, everything they'll vote for is a lie.

Of course, you might just want to ignore that Johnson is a lair or you might believe Johnson is honest. If you do then I wouldn’t use the word ignorant. I’d use deluded.

Wait for it.... 'they all lie.' Well if you believe that then vote for someone other than Johnson. Time we had a change.

Very condescending and inaccurate. No party has tried to bring fresh ideas and the Tories continue to use Barnsley as a punchbag. I have voted Independent in the past and may well do so this time. Barnsley wouldn’t have voted for Brexit if they refused to vote anything but Labour.

The biggest issue impacting the country in the last 60 years was coronavirus.

The Conservatives and Labour shared almost precisely the same strategy on that issue and that was the complete sacrificing of children and young people's interests and the continuation of poor people working while the middle classes stayed at home, all to be seen to protect the elderly and better off, and it didn't work anyway. That tells me that those two main parties are so far away from my ideological viewpoint that I will never be able to bring myself to vote for them again.

Just a minute Labours in opposition so effectively have no say, did you know the Torys have an 80 seat majority in the house of commons why do you think all this sleaze is happening, remember the Health minister giving a PPE contract to his Pub Landlord. But when doubt blame Labour.

From my experience it’s the boomers voting tory now. The younger generations tend to be more left leaning.

Reminds me very much of the US politics with Trump, Democrats and the liberal media.

It's not been a good time to get policies over with Covid, but Starmer has been poor. Had this been Corbyn you can probably guess the reaction from the liberal wing of the party and its supporters.

Not sure how Ill vote yet.

It baffles me why Labour have put forward a candidate in Hartlepool who was a remainer given Hartlepool was a 70% leave seat & he lost another constituency in the North East in 2019 to the Tories due to Brexit.
