Having taken another look for the umpteenth time at the league positions I still think it will be us v Brentford in the final I predict we will win against Norwich and Bournemouth will draw against Stoke putting us in 5th.... I don't know why..just got a gut feeling Bournemouth don't want Swansea and fancy their chances against a Brentford side who play similar football to themselves....that said i feel Brentford will over come Bournemouth by the odd goal to nil...and we will beat Swansea by 2 clear goals to get to the final ....which I see us winning 3-1 I can but dream Only time will tell Regardless of what happens credit where credit is due to all involved....weve done tremendously well to achieve what we have so far... so thank you to all involved What you guys think.....how you see it panning out...although best advice 1 game at a time...
Barnsley finish 6th and play Brentford despite beating Norwich as Bournemouth will win their last match. Barnsley draw the home leg 1-1 but then go to Brentford and win 2-0. A Jordan Ayew penalty is enough to get Swansea to the final after a 0-0 stalemate in the first game. Barnsley thump Swansea 4-0 at Wembley and we finish 8th in the Premier League next season.
8th? Where’s you’re ambition man?!? If we don’t qualify for the CL I’m making a ‘sack the board’ banner.
not personally going so far as to suggest we 'will' be in the final. i wanted to avoid swansea, so I'm happy enough with that. no preference between brentford or bournemouth. very similar teams and we've beaten both. if we bring our A-game, I think we can beat them again. if the performance is anything like rotherham, preston or coventry though, it could be game over after the first leg.
It doesn't bother me who we play. There isn't going to be an easy match, but we've nothing to fear from any of them. Fans from all four clubs will point to poor performances from their team during the campaign and say something along the lines of "If we play like we did against club A, B or C, we'll lose". We deserve to be in the Play Offs, we earned the right to play in them. This Head Coach and group of players have done us proud this season.
Agreed Mate.No matter what happens , as you say we have been well served by Val and the squad. If only he had been here from the start.
After 45 games last season, we needed to win our final one at Brentford, simply to have a chance of remaining in the Championship. This season, we've confirmed our place in the Play Offs with two matches remaining, after only picking up four points out of the first twenty one available until Valerien took charge. The change is unbelievable and I know which position I prefer us to be in. Complaining when we're in the Play Offs? Not me!
How gutted we would be to miss out on European Football by one place, unless you think we will win a cup competition to get in.
