On the last days of the EFL season? Championship games ko at 12.30 on Saturday and league 1 at 12 on Sunday. Why not ko at 3 as usual, any particular reason for it? Not like we're being beamed live to Thailand is it
It's so that each League finishes at a different time. Hence the L1 games on the Sunday afternoon. They've done it for a few years now.
But the championship games could ko at 3 on Saturday and league 1 at 3 on Sunday and that would still have each league finishing at a different time. I'm aware it's been like this for years now but wondering what the logic is behind it.
There's only one premier league game kicking off at 3 on Saturday (already relegated Sheff U v a safe Crystal Palace) so hardly any clashes if the Championship kicked off at 3 as well
This. The rule has been relaxed this season, but I always assumed that the early kick off was just so Sky could show a match.
But there’s a chance of something significant happening at the bottom, whereas the top 2 are up, and the play off places are decided. It’s hardly Citizen Kane up the top.
Think it's sommet to do with getting the 10 mins free view Babe Station on earlier to help with certain 'celebrations'.
League 2 are kicking off at 3pm Saturday. I do honestly think it's so Sky can be across every game and commentate on all the drama and ups and downs the last match of the season brings. They'll probably be having a Soccer Saturday type programme for all 3 divisions.
It’s exactly because we are being beamed back to Thailand, and China, and Singapore, and Malaysia etc lunchtime kick offs are prime time 8pm Saturday night entertainment in the Far East.
