Last year while visiting my partner's sister in Norfolk we went to village yard sale. At one house the bloke had loads of old footy programmes and I bought a 70s Oakwell Review. So I was walking along with it in my hand and this Wendy fan asked me if I was a Barnsley fan and we got talking. We'd just survived at Brentford and they'd just had the 12 point deduction (I didn't even know), he came out with the usual "too big a club to get relegated, it'll take 4 games to wipe off the deficite" etc. "Don't be too certain mate" said. He also said something about Barnsley probably surviving again... I'd love to bump into him again.
Check out their supporters Trust statement. They have to pay 2.5 million each year for 30 years just to use Swillsborough. Add in the relegation loss of income and impact of covid and what you've got is a gigantic mess and nailed on 2nd relegation. In the words of Ray Winston, have a bang on that!

They'll have to sell their players to get some income. Wait... Hang on a minute, they don't have any players in contract do they
Nice way to dodge ffp though... straight away you’ve got a 2.5 miliion shortfall to make up each year....
