It’s actually insane that people think it’s ok for fans to be banned in Oakwell because of the piss-trousered old fart Mark Drakeford.
As has already been said, the precedent has been set with the previous tier system. To deprive one set of fans the chance to go to a game because of the welsh government rules is sheer spite. Not sure it would even be a massive advantage. Hopefully fans are ultimately allowed into both legs.
As Farnham said, if they don't like the rules of the English leagues they're more than welcome to play in the Welsh leagues. What's the saying? You can't have your cake and eat it?
Shame on you TM !- Drakeford has done a brilliant job leading Labour in these elections - Labour have 30 out of 60 in the Senedd so don't have an outright majority. What is interesting is that many thousands of Welsh voters who voted Tory at the last G E switched to Labour for these local elections which suggests that nowadays voters switch allegiance more easily than they did years ago. Regards Swansea and Cardiff City - they became part of the Football League 100 years ago - the Football league was only named the English Football League in 2016 and neither Club was given the option of leaving the League then. (as a Valley-Boy I support neither club.) My guess is that Swansea will be allowed to have supporters at the Barnsley match.
I hope you are right - but if the Welsh government dont allow fans in Swansea I still dont see why that stops us having fans in the leg played in England which are allowed by the English government
which reminds me of the time some years ago when my sister came home having finished with her Welsh sheep farming boyfriend - she had asked him a number of times how many sexual partners he had before meeting her and his reply was he didn't know because every time he started counting he fell asleep ......... (think about it!)
EFL need to step in asap & confirm that fans will be allowed at Oakwell regardless of the Welsh government position. Drakeford was all for lifting restrictions pre election when it suited him, but otherwise takes every opportunity to act the strong leader. That said, the problem isn't anything to do with Swansea or Drakeford, it's one of the EFL's making. Meanwhile, the Bournemouth ballot is open.
Didn’t some English teams play at a neutral ground due to government COVID rules and the other team allowed to be played at home? Not sure if fans were allowed at the opposition home game, but surely this is a precedent for the EFL to follow
