Why? Nothing in there to suggest that for me.

Its a good job these comedians nowadays were not doing club circuits in 70s they would have paid em up before first bingo.

The increase in fire arms on our streets is becoming worrying. How did he get his hands on a crossbow?
If he is mentally ill is he under any kind of supervision or treatment?

He'll get either a suspended sentence if no prior or a few weeks in prison.

Either way I doubt he'll receive any rehabilitation or treatment if he's got anything underlying.

Prisons full, police stretched and mental health services overwhelmed.

No licence needed for a crossbow...you can buy one over the counter

Depends on the counter in question though. They're not hanging on the wall between the Liquorice Allsorts and the Anadin Extra at my local Premier.

True and for years now law enforcement have been arguing that the 1987 legislation needs to be changed. Most of the bows produced now are high powered and could be deadly.
Though by law they're not a firearm the police treat them as such.
The moment he retrieved it and pointed it at the 2 officers, had the officers been armed deadly force could have been enacted.

It's nuts, the new threat on the streets are starter pistols which are being converted into viable shooters. Again legislation lagging behind the realities on the front line.

Amazon mate is full of em, though they'll have proof of sale in most cases (but if used for illegal purposes that doesn't mitigate it). It's easy to get them delivered to drop points using dodgy details.
Like you say reputable retailers don't just hand them out like toys.

There's been more legislation passed to protect pieces of stone / marble and to stop folk airing their views.

Over lockdown, I've tried going back and watching the stand-up sets from acts I used to love from back in the day. You know, the likes of Jim Davidson, Chubby Brown, etc. In the whole, I think I may have laughed 3 times, and cringed my way through the rest. It was such a "lazy" and "cheap" way to get laughs...

Seeing something like this makes you realise just how crazy and stupidly backwards the gun laws in the USA are where anyone can easily get an assault rifle.

You should watch more of his stuff. Lee is one of, if not THE best stand ups around. To quote him though, he's not going to spoon feed you warm diarrhoea like Michael McIntyre.

I was shocked how easy it is to buy a crossbow, a shop on Scarborough front sells them I got one myself (never used it I have it unloaded on my fireplace) asked for no I.D and paid with cash all they did was tell me the rules and laws about firing it and they wrapped it up in a load of bags and paper before taping it up and said once I leave the shop my actions are down to me

Can I ask why you got it?

I was trying to think earlier why anyone would have one and I couldn't think of a reason. If there's a sport, like archery, that uses crossbows (I don't know if there is) then that would be a reason, but even then I would have thought they'd be better kept locked up at the club.
