I for one would like to congratulate the club. A totally thankless task which could never please everybody. Arranged and organised at the very last hour with latter confirmation of the forthcoming situation. I'm sure that the work behind the scenes has been relentless. Well done to all involved. And sorry for anyone who was dissapointed with the decision or outcome.
I want to know if the crowd are going to give those sitting in the North Stand some stick, as if they are away supporters. I think it's only fair.
Agree with the O.P. I was unsuccessful, but that's life (well for me anyway). I can't get why folk are having a pop at each other. If you're going, then great. If you aren't then it's a shame, but watch us on T.V and everything will be fine. Hopefully it's a brilliant night for everyone next Monday, whether live or living room. Apart from S.M obviously.
I didn't get one, but it's fair enough. I am disappointed (very), but I don't feel violated, as I did when I couldn't get a fvcking Liverpool ticket, when the club let any fvcker at all have one. The random draw is the random draw, and my bubble of three happened to miss out.
I agree. When I got the reply from the club it was signed by Chris Witty who was pointing and laughing.
Impossible to go back to normal while hospitals were being over run.last time we came out of lockdown too much was done too soon. No one wants to be restricted but no one wants themselves or others close to them to die or suffer with long COVID either.
They won't let us live now. Still can't go to the football for another 4 months. Can't go on a decent holiday for 5-6 months Can't go to gigs or concerts. We've jabbed the vulnerables, Now relaese us
SAGE is filled with highly qualified and specifically experienced professionals. Fact. What are your credentials for being so forthright about the apparent ‘fact’ that they are wrong?
Thousands of scientists signed a declaration against lockdown. My point is..... Boris didnt want to impose all this again. He was hounded into it by the media, SAGE and lockdown fanátics. And Now SAGE are slowing Our freedoms returning.
Why did a thread praising the club turn into a rant about something completely out of their control. We are extremely disappointed not to get any tickets but BFC have acted in with great credit to a difficult situation - well done and let’s hope for a great night on Monday.
Apart from not making it clear there were alternatives to a photo ID they did a really good job. http://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/where-is-block-or2-please.304525/#post-2730522
I think the club have done a great job so far and I'm sure they will over the day of the event. If nothing else over the last year I have seen the club try to show a commitment to the fans within the constraints they have. For me this ballot was all about managing own expectations. Not feeling entitled, having empathy that some can't take part and knowing there will be disappointment and frustration alongside excitement and euphoria.
There are gigs and festivals happening. Football should be back to normal for next season. Folk can see their loved ones again . Yes some "fun stuff" isn't happening quite yet but no one isn't being allowed to live.
