Last night I was watching highlights of Brentford game last season to get the goosebumps going in preparation of Monday. Stumbled across this on YouTube it is DVD highlights of all the games from the 96/97 season. Despite being in my mid 30s and from Grimethorpe I only really started properly watching Barnsley 10 years ago, I’ve never seen it before and thought it was fantastic. I’m sure a lot of you will have great memories of some of the games. Enjoy!

I've kind of put the 96/97 season to bed. I feel there's a danger of becoming all Leeds Utd if you don't put it in the past. It's in my heart and will be forever but look at England an 1966. I don't want it to that long before we're in Premier League again.

I think you'll find it was a VHS, not a DVD!

I've got it up in the loft somewhere. Also got another one that was focused purely on the Bradford game.

That one was "A Day to Remember" I believe?

I know what you mean, it was an amazing ride to the prem and I'm glad I got to witness if first hand, but I barely watch anything about it now. To be honest I'd rather forget some of the drubbings we were on the end of and I really don't need reminding about that funking liverpool game.

It was an amazing season, definitely goosebumps at the time and when I remember it So proud to be a red and I think that feeling would be emulated if we'd had this season actually being in the stands. Still really proud of the club but don't feel as "connected". It was the buzz that season in the pubs, are we going to do it, it's never been done before. Plus the football was class and so exciting to watch.

I can never tire of anything to do with that season. That team had absolutely everything, grit, drive, desire, determination and tenacity. But skill, swagger, quality, technique and trickery too.

It was a very tough league that year and along with Bolton, we were the best side by a mile. The games against Bolton were like a Game of Thrones battle scene overlaid with a musical score from Mozart. Things of beauty.
