    Throughout the '70's, the main two were Barry Murphy & David 'Sam' Yates. When it came to the promotion winning team of 1978/79, Allan Clarke moved left back John Collins to the right and brought Phil Chambers back on the left.

    That’s pretty much the team I had on my bedroom wall with addition of John Collins. This thread is making me feel very young, I like this thread!

    Sits in front of me does Les in east lower. Well thats if he as renewed his ticket. Smashing bloke, hasn't got the edge that some pro footballers seem to have.

    Brought back some good memories choosing this team, Jimmy Seal makes it into my team for bagging both goals in a 2-1 win v Notts County in my first reds game 1972, forever a red from that moment.

    my first games starting 11 v Grimsby 1978 when we got promoted from div 4 was my fav. mi dad took me to game, gave bloke on turnsytle some cash for a beer, stood me on a milk crate corner bit of ponty..cant be arsed looking for team but i fell in love
