I don't think they didn't give their all, I know they didn't. Amazing season, dampest of squibs to finish.
What's your problem? We've had an amazing season, but that doesn't exempt them from criticism for tonight's performance. They'll know they haven't played well.
Sorry, did I miss an email or something? Aren't we allowed to have a say on the performance? Just checking.
So for the last 20 minutes or so, when all we needed to do was score, you were thinking "this is a damp squib" finish to our season?
Rea Really proud of them but didn’t turn up until it was too late, don’t know if it was nerves and inexperience but we blew our chance. We massively overachieved this season but so disappointing to watch that first half, it was men against boys. Yes, they dived and cheated but we didn’t attack or press or give them a fight.
In the way they played, yes of course. I know all we needed to do was score again, because it was 2-1 to Swansea on aggregate. Not sure what your point is, sorry.
My point is that there's no way it's a "damp squid" end to the season when after 46 (?) games and in the 95th minute we're still in a playoff with a chance of going to Wembley to see if we end up in the Premier League.
I won’t hear a bad word said about any of them, either tonight or over the last seven months. You can’t say that any of them has given less than 100% and hasn’t tried their damnedest week in week out. I feel disappointed for them but MASSIVELY MASSIVELY proud of them and love them all.
I knew all that, but "in the way they played", as mentioned previously, I was a little disappointed. All I demand from my football team is that put a shift in, give 100%, leave nothing on the pitch.....all those clichés!! But not sure I saw that tonight. Cheers
We would be lying if we didn’t say that performances in both semis were a bit flat. That takes absolutely nothing away from a brilliant season and an Herculean effort to get there. Can’t wait for next season.
There can’t be a Barnsley fan out there that isn’t incredibly proud of this season surely?! Let’s have a well earned rest now and come back even stronger next season.
Beaten by a better team. Like Ipswich play off. I’m looking forward to getting back to Oakwell next year and I’d love Val to be able to add a few of his own players and see what we can do.
Disagree. We did the best we could against Swansea, and I thought we did better as a team against them than against others generally during the season. We did not get to the playoffs, and then let ourselves down. We huffed and puffed - best we could do.
