Shithousery is part and parcel of the game. It's awful but all the top sides do it. That's the next learning curve for our lot. We're certainly men against men. that wasn't the case last season.
Totally agree with this. Said it for some time. There’s actually no need for the ref to do it any more either. He’s mic’d up, he can get told when to blow the whistle.
First of all I didn't say we'd lost because of the ref I said he'd made it harder for us to win secondly I'm not so sure Swansea we better than us over 3 hrs I can't remember Collins having a shot to save tonight apart from the goal and Collins had less to do than the Swansea keeper in the first leg too. Swansea had two moments of brilliance that led to goals we had two but sadly only one led to a goal the other hit the crossbar.but neither of our moments of brilliance were aided by debatable decisions by officials both Swansea goals were.
However, frustrated I was with the ref, however blatantly one sided the commentators were, however how much I wanted the reds to win and beat Brentford at Wembley, our god Val in whom we trust, succinctly hit it on the head when he said we needed 5-6 chances to score our only goal whilst Swansea converted their only two chances. Were Swansea better than us - maybe, but they were certainly kings of the dark arts when it came to getting the key decisions. That is not to say how wonderful it has been this season to be a Barnsley fan ( of which I have been one of over 50 years standing) but bear witness of a tremendous turnaround since the forest game of last season where we were down and supposedly out to tonight’s game where we were within touching distance of going to wembley it has been nothing short of miraculous bearing in mind our budget and age of playing staff. Did the team deserve to win probably not, did we deserve to win - definitely yes for our fantastic fans. But we will go again next season wether or not we lose some of our favorite players or manager because as we all know that is what been a Red means … forever a dreamer, forever a RED. COYR !!!!!!
In the cold light of day The ref was utter garbage An embarrassment to his profession same as the first leg
Both referees were appalling, no doubt! And on another day with a decent ref we probably would have taken it to extra time. But ultimately we lost because Swansea has the quality when it mattered, all 80k of Andre Ayew, and Grimes.
Yesterday was one of the weakest refereeing performances I've seen in years. From the first minute to the last, Swansea screamed like babies at the slightest contact, and the ref fell for it every time. But that's not why we lost. We lost because we failed to use what we learnt about the opposition in our previous matches, and doggedly continued with Plan A. When we got the ball down in midfield and played our passing game, we looked much better, but as in so many games this season, we didn't do it enough. We gave away possession too easily and mostly played the way Swansea wanted us to play. I hope Swansea go up. I'm not sure I could stomach playing them next season. In fact, I'd be quite happy if we never played them again.
I hope they stay down and we show that we've learned how to deal with them. They'll have to sell some of their star players too.
Isn't the hypocrisy yours? It's you who is saying the Rotherham result wasn't due to a poor refereeing decision but the Swansea game was.
Still getting on my tits how robbed we are. I honestly hope to see a 97th minute marradona goal from pinnock against them in the final
I was sure it wasn't a foul at the time, but Swansea as a team are the most devious I have ever come across in winning cheap free kicks, wasting time, and generally conning the ref. Yes we came up short over the two legs, but the way Swansea played leaves a bitter taste for sure.
No clever clogs it isn’t because Rotherham had ample opportunity to negate that decision. Swansea never created another chance. Oh and if you think I’m an hypocrite then you must think the posters who liked my post must also be hypocrites.
