Whether he stays with us or not and I really hope he does, Val has told us precisely what is needed to make this system work. He said in his interview that the issue is that we need too many chances to score a goal. Swansea had two chances in two games and scored them both. We had numerous chances over the two games and took one. The one we took was the one piece of quality finishing that we produced in 180 minutes. If he decides to leave us I hope he goes to a side that can afford the quality of finisher that he needs. We’ve had the best season that we’ve had for years and enjoyed it more than we could have imagined, but when we are talking about improving it’s not only about keeping the side together, it’s about finding the quality to get the results when we are bossing the game. I think that over the season we have seen a shadow of what we could be if we had the quality that some of the other sides have. Imagine what we could have been if we had an Ayew, a Toney, or an Armstrong. I’m very positive about our future and I’m in full support of the system. I don’t know what the market will be like in the close season, but I’m expecting some changes. One thing I expect is that more money will come in than goes out, because that’s the plan. Thank you Barnsley for an exciting and enjoyable season, can’t wait for the next one.
I think we all said that Brittain miss in the 1st leg would be crucial and so it proved. He puts that away then both games end 1-1. The more I see it the worse it looks.
don't torture yourself over it. who knows what would have come next if it had gone in. they could have found another gear and scored again. we'll never know
Don’t think it’s type of striker I think some of it is more quality of chance created. Neil made a good point about it that most of the chances we create are snapshots or half chances rather that clear cut.
Emperor's Clothes with Brittain. I'm glad Jordan Williams is fit. If it meant keeping hold of another name I'd sell Brittain while his stock is high.
I can't belive this Callum Brittain witch hunt. He got it on target, the goalie saved it (it's what he's there to do by-the-way). How many times have we seen our strikers, nevermind wingers / defenders, blast over from similar possitions? Collins' non catch of a simple cross is a bigger blunder if accountibility has to be made.
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/r...s-valerien-ismael-as-contract-details-emerge/ The question is how much the fee is in his release clause.
I love how that article has the words “reliable” and “Nixon” in it. He’s literally making an assumption there. Now I’m not saying there isn’t a release clause in there, there probably is but that whole article is based on Nixon guessing in a tweet.
Its pure guesswork, but I'd be hugely surprised if there wasn't given one was written into Heckys contract before his Leeds departure and obviously Struber too. I suspect Stendel also had one. But we'll only potentially know in the coming weeks.
Its funny how Dike and Morris manage to score goals but Victor and Chaplin struggle to even get chances, definitely down to ability, movement and the desire to score id say. Woodrow is a quality finisher but needs to be more of a nuisance.
"Football journalist Alan Nixon has taken to Twitter to claim that Barnsley boss Valerien Ismael has a release clause in his contract" Well done Sherlock Nixon.
