Wasn't the diving, wasn't the scoreline and wasn't the two teams at all really. It was just how bad the commentators were. Hourihane got hit square in the back and laid on the floor holding his head. The commentators watched the replays, could clearly see nobody touched his head yet kept their bent mouths shut. Later in the game their player was on the floor holding his knee for absolutely ages. Commentators 'i think he's rolled his ankle'. If that's their abilities they need to piss off frankly
Legend Hourihane not to blame for that particular incident then? Would you prefer them to praise him for his professionalism? Suggest that he tried his best to get one of ours booked for head walloping him? He did get thwhacked. What's the gripe here? He stood on somebody's foot when he played for us and got them sent off.
There constant trolling comments about the way Barnsley play( tactics) certainly wasn't very professional at one point you could hear the co- commentator laughing his head off in the background after the main guy made what i presume he thought was a funny comment troll about the way the team plays .
In both legs (was it Hinchcliffe) the sidekick went off at length each time about how wonderful the Swansea defence was, man by man, after each of our attacks. We were seething in our house. No praise for our attack. Ayew was a genius the other end - when every 15 mins he got a touch. (btw Brittain should have done better for their goal, and he's been showing there might be a limit to his talents recently)
Swansea were more streetwise than us, go near them they fall over draw a free kick from the ref and sly shirt pulls, blocking of players off the ball as we are attacking, all the things that frustrate true football fans.
Eh? My point was that commentators should comment on what they see. If they see cheating they should say so. If they see a player clearly injured holding his knee they should say that rather than saying they think he's hurt his ankle.
Perhaps they don't see what you do. Don Goodman sees a completely different game to me. With regard to Hourihane - if he wasn't hit in the head, why is he holding it, if he's not cheating?
What annoys me is the commentator constantly saying “that brilliant defending” when the defender is clearly holding and pulling the attackers shirt! That’s a foul mate! Stealing a living talking rubbish. If referees grow some balls and start penalising defenders for it football will become more exciting with more goals.
They were Swansea supporters. I don't mean on a regular basis but in the match yesterday they wanted Swansea to win and it came out in everything they said. It was infuriating to the point of wanting to give them a kicking.
The commentary was awful and totally biased. The whole match they were giving out praise for Swansea constantly. How brilliant their attachments force was when the ever got the ball in our half. When we were doing all the attacking they were on and on about how good the Swansea defence was. No equivalent praise for Williams when he totally outpaced their defence and Woodrow goal was hardly praised at all in the same way as their goal was. They were so biased towards Swansea it was annoying in the extreme. Any positive comment for Barnsley was given grudgingly and extremely patronising to us. How could a team like Barnsley even be on the same field as such a paragon of a team as Swansea.
Efl not even mentioning about there goal was a foul to us.why?i think they've been fair all season on quest.proper got mi back up, wats happened as happened i can accept that but other way round they'd av not shut up about it,if we'd av made final they would av still gone on about it.i hope brentford win because of it.rant over.
It was really bizarre tbh at one point they claimed Swansea had a few more gears to go through? wtf?!
In the 1st game woodman was timewasting all 2nd half the comontator said something like Swansea have got there self in a position where woodman can slow the game down not woodman has been time wasting constantly. The 2nd game Hourihane went down holding his head when he never got touched on his head just because we were in possession to get the game stopped. Nothing from the sky team.
We have to remember this a sport where the law makers have invented a footballing term to accommodate cheating into the game - ‘simulation’. Instead of just calling it cheating and punishing as such they dilute its definition to soften the perception.
In a weird way I hope Swansea go up and then just get arseholed every other week. Be interesting watching them trying to time waste for a draw most games. (By that I mean premier league fans will have to watch it)
The pleasing bit of the game was that we appeared to switch over to a plan B. We kept the ball down, built from the back and we caused them problems. However it was too little too late.
Also when you listen to any commentary the player gets the support like "he should have gone down" etc. It’s about time the refs got comments like "the ref fell for that" or "this refs easily conned"
