With the state of their player contract situation, I'd be pretty amazed if they even finished in the top half.

I'd say their biggest threats are
    the Inland Revenue
    points deductions
    administration
    liquidation

It’s remarkable how deluded some (most) of their fans are.

they will be working on a four year plan now, instant promotion to the Championship, use that squad for another instant promotion, strengthen to get top four apron finish and hey presto the promised land....simples :p:p

Playing Sunderland is only like an FA Cup Final. Playing Onesday is a Champions League Final.

That 10yr season ticket is looking good for 15. If they’ve a club to watch.
Hand on heart. I think the worst is far from over. Folk saying give D. Moore a £5m transfer budget. I can’t think of any players that have been retained. worth that sort of money. So would have to come out of Chansiri’s pocket.
Bear in mind he had issues. Eg paying players wages on time. Season ticket refunds. Will have a reduced gate income with fans demanding more realistic league 1 prices.
No matter what ST and gate revenue will be. I think they’ll struggle to add any players to the squad with a supposed £10m+ Player wage Bill at least (after those that have been released at the end of their contracts) , with no newcomers.

They're under a transfer embargo for not filing their accounts on time (again).

I think they assume that will be lifted. As accounts didn’t have to be in on time and given a 3 months extension due to Covid. (To companies house) There’s a lot of clubs in the same boat. 10 in the championship. The EFL ignored the 3 months extension. And are expected to withdraw embargo’s by the end of June. If the accounts are in by then.

Yeah, and when that happens they'll be expecting Chansiri to be in for Aguero.
