Correct. This country is/was being governed by morally and intellectually bankrupt, despicable low life.
Absolutely loving DC throwing the tories under the bus. He's an odious *****, don't get me wrong, but clear there's some truth to what he is saying as PM dodging PMQs about it like the plague when having the opportunity to refute it.
He has hit Johnson, he has savaged Hancock, but strangely Gove and Sunak are out of the firing line. Sunak was put in No 11 after Javid refused to let him sack an advisor, and he has history with Gove. I suspect he might be fancying his chances of working under either of those when they take over...
I find this whole thing utterly depressing. People actually vote for and defend these liars and criminals. Cummings is a horrible piece of work, yet his exposure of what we all probably knew will once again go nowhere, because people in this country vote for them regardless. Time and time again, we as a nation ignore what should be national scandal after national scandal. I don’t know how they keep getting away with it. Depressing.
I reckon the ones in the firing line have so much **** they could unearth on the party/ prominent party members that it effectively makes them bulletproof. That's the only way I can imagine this behaviour goes on without them being sacked for it.
Sorry, I wasn't trying to defend either Johnson or Cummings, it just irks me that people who "don't believe a word that comes out of their mouths" fawn on them when they say something that highlights their belief is correct. And it's not just a politics thing either.
You might be right. I just don’t get how journalists, and more importantly the opposition parties aren’t making more of an issue of it all. Not all journalists are conservatives. Starmer has to be the most inept leader of an opposition party in my lifetime. Nothing gets challenged.
I think thats true in many many aspects as you say and we're all guilty of it to a lesser degree. What's quite morbidly fascinating about this is the face off between unlikely allies for a short period. And the realisation of a psychopath that they've been manipulated and outmanoeuvred by a narcissistic sociopath.
Tbh I was referring to the media feeding the Cummings is a charlatan view to the public . That’s not to say he isn’t by the way it’s just the media once again trying to turn genuine blame and criticism away from their darling govt . People are being led by the popular media but denying it in their minds and the media are convincing some people that the views being fed to them are their own views : I’m afraid that until the media have had their use out of the govt the headlines won’t reflect the harm this govt have done but as soon as the media turn on them and the headlines change then the views of the public will change . I know there are genuine believers in what this govt have done and will defend them choose what but the vast majority are being fed through he media with biased journalism on the kuensberg mould .
No I didn’t. Not that it really matters. If the shoe was on the other foot, and it was Labour launching scandal after scandal, I wouldn’t need to even put the TV on. The world would know about everything in minute detail over and over.
But Sir Keir not yet having had the opportunity to address a public meeting? So he gets the same bumpy ride from the media that Corbyn did, which is unfair considering their respective abilities. He made Johnson look a chump (again) today.
He doesn't like Carrie much either does he . By the way, what did her little dog do that required a COBRA meeting adjournment?
In the last election I got a knock on the door. A woman with a little dog. She asked me if I'd be voting for Boris. I shut the door in her face. When she'd left my missus told me it was Carrie. And the dog had a drink out of mi watering can.
So to summarise - lockdown was an unmitigated disaster but it would all have worked if we'd had even more lockdown and earlier. The mad thing is - I think he genuinely thinks he is being honest and candid and admitting to mistakes but the reality is he's still utterly blinkered and wedded to a strategy that has been proven to be a disastrous failure all over the world. As for the "revelations" about Johnson's working practices - is anyone really surprised? It's utterly clear the guy is a prize pillock, we don't need a manipulative Skeletor to tell us that.
I don’t want him to make Boris look a chump - he can do that in his own. Over the last 12 months Starmer has had enough ammunition to wipe the floor with this corrupt bunch. Deaths, delays, vague policies, track and trace, dodgy contracts, Nightingale Hospitals. Billions and Billions of wasted £ to Tory mates. I agree Corbyn had a rough ride, but Starmer has made bland an arftfom. He is ineffective. Nothing has changed.
The problem is its near impossible to make any impression on a committed liar who has fostered a culture of complete dishonesty. Deny, evade, bluster, deny, evade, bluster. I doubt anyone knows what the truth is about anything and probably don’t care. Deaths, vague policies, trace and trace, billions wasted? Yes, the deluded have heard about all that but all they care about is Johnson got them their jabs and Johnson ‘Got Brexit Done.’ That’s all that matters to them.
