Final fixtures this weekend - Sutton already promoted. Are there one or two other teams being promoted and how are the play-offs working with SIX teams being in with a chance?
2nd and 3rd go straight into the play-off semis. 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th play each other first to get into the semi-final. One other team, plus Sutton, goes up.
If I remember rightly, the clubs who finished 6th & 7th play away at the clubs who finished 4th & 5th. Then the winners play away at the clubs who finished 2nd & 3rd. The winners then play each other in the final. Then again, I like Valerien Ismael & our style of play, so what do I know?
5 June Match A 5th team plays 6th (one leg only I think) 6 June Match B 4th plays 7th (one leg) 12 June 2nd team in league plays winner of match A (one leg - presumably at 2nd teams ground) 13 June 3rd team in league plays winner of match B ( " " " 3rd " " ) Winners of the last two fixtures (above) play the final at Ashton Gate 12 June -- long season !
Got to get past Halifax first on Saturday at the Shay. 5 teams (including Halifax) fighting for 2 play off places.
Interesting fixtures this weekend - things very tight re Eastleigh and Chesterfield - reckon Eastleigh has the easier match against Solihull Moors. As for the team eventually getting promoted with Sutton my money is on Wrexham. With Newport playing well and heading for Division 1 -- and that team 40 miles west of Cardiff favourites for promotion to the Premiership it could be a good end of season for the Taffs.
Tough game saturday though mate, may even not make play offs. Seriously. any 2 from 5. I don't think a draw will be enough.
good luck - you've got good odds - I've a tenner on a treble Swansea Blackpool and Newport to be promoted - cra* odds of 7/1! Wrexham an interesting team - owned by Hollywood stars Ryan Raynolds and Rob McElhenney.
Yep Chezzy for me too - my late father in law was a big fan so always look out for their results. The new manager has done an Ismael and got them from the foot of the table to play off places......just hope they fare better than we did!
Gut feeling Chezzy won’t make it. Halifax know a win will overhaul em and even then. That may not be enough for Halifax. It’s going to be a roller coaster of a table throughout 90 mins on Saturday for those 5 clubs involved. With 2 places at stake. ( to get to the playoffs that is) Squeaky bum time for a lot of fans.
