Been found to have committed minor Breach of rules in their respective alleged plundering of the public purse. These cnuts are policing themselves, lords hearing their cases and giving their own verdicts . Corrupt as fek the fekin lot of them there’ll be dictatorships in most parts of Europe before the next twenty years are through imo . Nithing they do is beyond reproach when they’re judging themselves . People blindly sitting by and allowing this to go on . Not untill it’s too late when corruption is part of the norm and people start to realise what they have taken away . They test the system to its limits and every time they get away with this corruption they go further next time and so on . Well soon be governed by politicians from a Caribbean island living the life of Riley whilst rest of us fight for the scraps they throw .
This Johnson guy is unreal, been reading that he missed 5 crisis cobra meetings at the beginning of the Covid 19 virus because he was working on a biography of Shakespear as he wanted the money to pay off his deforce from Marina Wheeler his 2nd wife (source Sunday Times).
The vaccine trumps everything about the pandemic that went before. Brexit trumps everything else. Cummings has nothing on any of them because he's no better than the rest of them - arguably worse. And the Left keeps fighting itself. Best to relax and enjoy your pension. Your children might see a non-Tory government after you're gone. In the meantime, Barnsley may well go Tory next time round!
It is indeed, Connor. But I presently see no way out of it. Best to turn off the telly and have a beer in the sun!
Always look on the bright side of life , Bielsa or Cold stare or bet both / plus what beers to buy for barbecue today my only thoughts this morning
The Tories won: Our last Grammar school PM’s trained the working class to look up to the elite by pretending we lived in a meritocracy. We have to assume that the rich are deserving and therefore the poor are undeserving. Meanwhile they’re dismantling every support that the 20th century put in place in order to create a fairer society. We now have young working class kids worship the middle class privately educated Uni dropout Corbyn, whilst slagging off SIR Keir, the son of a nurse and a toolmaker, who through talent and hard work achieved one of the top legal jobs in the country. It’s not just Tories that are putting personality before talent. Many ‘Socialists’ believe that any follower of the Corbyn cult, no matter how talentless is a great prospect for leader.
Agree with all of that. To me, the biggest issue going forward ought to be electoral reform. The current system continues to favour the party that largely designed it, mostly over two centuries ago. It allows the Tories to gather 43.6% of the votes at the last election (44.4% if you include the DUP) yet pocket 56.2% of the seats in Parliament. That in turn allows them to do all the other grubby little things they do - largely to the benefit of their own. The remaining parties ought to have some sort of pact to bring several reforming measures in if they are elected in sufficient numbers. The public should be told: "this way, you really will be taking back control". Proportional representation, and updated procedures in Parliament for voting and conducting business. Also, a centrally-located new Parliament building and ditch the phenomenally expensive and totally unsuitable present 'Palace of Westminster'. Longer term, a written constitution which re-defined and delimited the power of the monarchy and eliminated the concept of the royal prerogative. All that would do before lunch!
just as a matter of interest why would you be bigoted against someone because of their background (or your perception of it). Wouldn’t you judge someone on the kind of person they were; their ethics or their morals? And if they were a Leader of a political party - the policies that Party had adopted?
I’m not bigoted against anyone. However I do object to the resurgence of a ‘ruling class’, because I grew up in a country where it was possible for a bright hard working kid to achieve anything. Whereas now the working class no longer have equal excess to justice or most ‘elite’ jobs, they’re gradually being denied access to education and healthcare. Anyone who thinks that’s OK and that it’s reasonable because someone’s great great grandad was clever/hardworking or simply a lickspittle deserves power and influence is a bit odd in my book. I really don’t object to there being an upper class, but I do object to them rebalancing power and money that results in future working class kids having no opportunities. I object to billionaires getting richer by the day whilst your taxes and mine subsidise their employees wages. And I especially object to people who look down on the recipients of those benefits as if they’re scroungers, whilst the reality is obviously that the employers and landlords are the actual recipients of my tax money.
Hadn't read the Guardian online before I posted earlier, but coincidentally, this appears: To beat the Tories, we must first join forces to beat the electoral system | Caroline Lucas, Layla Moran and Clive Lewis | The Guardian Maybe Jimmy Viz was right after all!
I agree, it needs to be one group against another. Starmer needs to move fast while he can or step down and let somebody else do it. It's the gaping hole in their armour that the Tory turds can't hide or cover up.
It’s not the poor being trained by the Rich Although many deny they are led by the popular media . Whatever the media points to ,the gullible lap it up but let’s be honest even the so called hostile media to this shambles are giving them an easy ride . Whilst the top table are seen to be filling their mouths the others follow and print their admiration for a narcissistic ,racist ,greedy Government where they are judged and policed by other likeminded charlatans. The popular media are guilty of not bringing their mismanagement and misdeeds to book and delivering the fair and proper scrutiny because they themselves are filling their mouths and benefitting from the Trade Union cleansing etc.
Imagine if you will, a small island set in a cold sea. Its people are ruled by a cult that promised to rid them of strange foreigners who had infiltrated their island. And the people were happy. Then suddenly there came a great plague. The Cult Leader laughed in the face of this pestilence, welcoming it onto the island, even promising to show himself injected with this poison to prove his power over it. But the plague spread. The Cult Leader fell gravely ill and the people were sorely afraid. Due to his superhuman powers he recovered and all marvelled at his mystical strength. It came to pass that the Cult Leader invented a great protection for his followers and they praised his wisdom that knew no bounds. And now The Cult Leader would make his island and its people great once more. He proclaimed the cost would be the bodies of thousands of his followers piled high in the streets. Hearing these words, the followers sang his praise even louder and with joyous hearts welcomed their own deaths, such was their devotion to the Cult Leader. Actually, why imagine?
