Swansea are 2/1 to get promotion, the 2 games this year between them have been 1 all draws ,with one game Swansea playing 20 minutes with 10 men, as much as I dislike Swansea for their antics, if you going on form that 2/1 is so wrong especially given the fact in WOODMAN they have a keeper who as saved 9 out of 23 penalty's in his career and won the golden glove with 20 clean sheets in season
I agree. The 'promotion' betting takes out the draw and also takes out the risk of going to extra time. The best Brentford price is 6/13 with one firm, equating to a 68% chance. Swansea at 2's of course are rated a 33% chance. Both regular season games were drawn 1-1. Swansea of course have recent experience of the Prem, whereas to Brentford it surely represents a bigger deal. So the psychology may just be with Swansea. I certainly think their defence is well-equipped to nullify the Brentford strikeforce, in which case the game becomes a very even affair. Sadly, we know that Swansea have players that can produce a match-winning moment. So yes, they are not strong favourites, but I agree 2/1 is 'wrong' and they look worth a bet at that.
I think Swansea will go up. If I were a Brentford player, their nine(?) unsuccessful play-off campaigns would be weighing heavily on me. That, and the fact that Swansea will cheat to kill the game if they get in front, makes me favour them. That said, I predicted a final between us and Bournemouth, so you might want to discount my expertise.
Put a tenner on Swansea - Blackpool - Newport - (treble) - getting promotion - odds 7/1. !! Think Brentfords 'final' was their win against B'mouth so Swansea will probably win - Blackpool a sound side and it would be good to see Newport going up - I might even trot along to cheer them on when they play the Massives.
Brentford beat Swansea last year in the play offs. They 've also had recent Wembley experience. The way they came back against Bournemouth coupled with no travel means I wouldn't write them off.
Certainly wouldn't be writing them off Helen, but are they really twice as likely to win as Swansea? I think the bet has to be the Swans at that rate!
I think that 5mins before the teams walk out, the fa will conclude that there is no reason at all for swansea to be in the English leagues and promote the last team they played. Brentford will appeal and get told to sod off. Just a hunch
I’m choosing to favour this opinion - good points, well made. In fact, I’m holding you entirely responsible if this doesn’t happen
Be a battle of two teams trying to ref the match themselves. Brentford fully at playing the ref in the 2nd leg and we saw Swansea do it in both our games.
Under 2.5 goals in all three play off finals best price at a major bookies 4.25 with Hills. I expect three very cagey ninety minutes of Football and with so few allowed in such a vast stadium even the occasion will struggle to get an atmosphere to pump the players up.
You, my friend, are a prophet, a soothsayer, clairvoyant, fortune teller, a font of all knowledge and I’ll value your opinion from here on until the end of eternity
Lol, I may have had a cheeky lemonade whilst watching the game in a local licensed premises (for the first time since October) with like-minded mates
