...how does he choose which blue jumper, stonewashed jeans and white trainers he is going to wear for that day?

I just watched NY Red Bulls v Orlando and there he was. Do you reckon he has a wardrobe full of blue jumpers and stonewashed jeans?

The manager uniform. Val with his black turtle neck. Cloughie with his green sweater. What would you opt for? Bring back the tracksuit manager, someone who doesn't mind joining in with training exercises? Go full three piece suit and portray yourself as a thinker? How about the sheepskin coat manager? Real old school.

Allan Clarke rocking up in cut-off jeans was a pretty impressive fashion statement.

Something warm and waterproof, with a hood. Plus a thick scarf and woolly gloves. A hot water bottle strapped to my chest, and an umbrella, just in case.

New York ended Orlando's unbeaten start to the season but so far won 3 lost 4.

Go down the the Scott Parker grey wool cardigan look. He even had it on when we beat them first game of the season when it was twenty odd degrees.

I sympathise because I've worn the exact same outfit (not the exact same one before some joker pops up to ask if it's a bit grubby by now!) every day for maybe 10 years. A friend once said that she imagined my wardrobe to look like a cartoon character's, and I have to admit she wasn't far wrong!

One less thing to worry about in the morning, or when buying clothes.

I’d have the most varied array of long woolen coats that the Premier League has ever seen. Would save the three piece suits for finals only, club tracksuit for U23 and Academy games, and then the Joachim Low look for Summer with the smart white shirt and sleeves rolled up.

I’d look better at the job than I actually was. Style over substance. Talk a good game but deliver little.

Bespoke suit by Henry Poole of Saville Row, Brogues by John Lobb, shirt by Turnbull & Asser and silk tie Ferragamo. Oh, and a flunky to hold an umbrella if it rained.
