Love to see French Rugby League doing well. If you know your rugby history then you would know that prior to WW2 it was the dominant code.

Get Toulouse into the Super League as well!!

They might have put up a better campaign than Leigh Centurions have this season. I'm very worried about the future of professional Rugby league or whether it has one. The clubs voted to have Leigh rather than Toulouse as they no longer believe in expanding the game.
The game will survive in Amateur/semi professional mode,it is a more entertaining and safer game than the current incarnation of Union. It doesn't have the Establishment and Blue Chip companies backing it though. Another example of the UKs strange Caste system.

Not sure they would’ve done much better than Leigh. There’s a gulf in class between the leagues and that would have been apparent for Toulouse as well.

RL will survive at the top table. It's more agile and open to innovation than many sports I can think of. The Leigh decision was a safe play for uncertain times.

There was uproar at Royds academy in Rothwell as the overall academy is run by southern softies and they tried to replace rugby league with rugby union as it’s the academy’s sport of choice. Shows everything that’s wrong with academies and snobbery right there.

Union blocks the growth of rugby league in this country. They give any school willing to switch codes from league to union or just to start playing union 10k over 3 years. But they must exclusively play union.

I’ve spoken to coaches in the north east who say rugby league was taking off like mad in Newcastle, union came in with the money, change most schools to union and now they struggle for players up there

As someone who grew up in a totally non rugby environment. (Wombwell high)
Some of our near neighbours eg Wath. Played at school level.
I have endeavoured to watch both codes and cannot take to Union. League is a much better spectacle. A fast moving game compared to a borefest. Imo ie.
I Hope Fev make the super league. (I go occasionally) But talking to my bro. The fev fans ( of which he’s one. having lived there. 40+yrs) Feel the powers that be, will put obstacles in the way, to prevent that happening.

Really enjoy Rugby League, it's a very fast and physical sport at the higher levels. Got a ticket for the York vs Swinton 1895 Cup semi-final next Sunday at the new LNER stadium (the one that's replaced Bootham Crescent). Have seen the Giants at the McAlpine more times than I've seen The Reds, also been to Weldon Road and Belle Vue. Atmosphere is usually very good. Have to say, though, that the Gents behind the main stand at Belle Vue make the old West Stand Bogs seem like the Burj Khalifa ! :D I think they have to have a St John's team in attendance in case anyone passes out in there

Haven't been to Post Office Road yet, but now crowds are allowed back in, plan to go there. Think Fev have a very good chance of promotion this season (saw them muller York at Bootham Crescent in the play-offs a couple of seasons back but they lost in Toronto in the final).

Does worry me a bit that there are such disparate scores in some Super League games this season e.g. Cas vs Leeds, Salford vs Warrington, think it's a sign of lack of depth in some squads. Don't think this will be helped by the RFL/Super League decision to only award 10 academy licences when they have twelve to offer (Cas and Bradford both missed out).......

rugby league as become a game of 13 bouncers against 13 bouncers, its hard to tell a back from a forward, loved the game back in the day, when backs were small and forwards big fattys, they could throw the ball about, now its complete your sets and whoever makes most ground usually scores,if you get behind its so hard to come back and thats reason for these thrashings, can not watch it now
