Now that's an awful program. She must have a good agent to keep getting work because she's been full as dishwater on everything I've ever seen her on and yet Dave keep giving her chances
Miserable ******* alert but the huge majority of comedians hired by Dave or Comedy Central are not at all funny and I include Sara Pascoe.
TBH That's what I think, but its like you aren't allowed to say it, she seems a lovely lass but just not funny.
I think she is one of the comedians that are funny doing some things but can't carry it across a lot of formats
Whats the fact she is disabled got to do with anything? I also dont find her funny either, but thats nothing to do with her being disabled. There are plenty of able bodied comedians I don't find funny either but I do quite like Sara Pascoe (not seen guessable) Best standup I have seen in the last few years was Adam Hills - he is disabled but that has nothing to do with whether he is funny or not.
Agreed. Former glamour model Rosie Jones who's married to Joe Wicks is better. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_stand-up_comedians_from_the_United_Kingdom UK comedians are not as good as they used to be. 8 Out Of Ten Cats Does Countdown is another show that gives unfunny people TV time. Ellie Taylor, James Acaster, Joe Wilkinson, Roisin Conaty, Josie Long, Seann Walsh, Sean Lock, Harry Hill, Zoe Lyons, Nish Kumar, Stephen K Amos, Milton Jones, Simon Anstell, Rufus Hound, Katherine Ryan, Judi Love, Alan Davies. I could go on.
Shows how subjective comedy is there are one or two on there who I quite like, but not in all situations. Nish Kumar shouldn't be there for sure, he's seriously worse than unfunny!!
Ah, but she 'ticks boxes'. It's funny how often W.A.S.P.'s who aren't female, black & Asian, disabled use that phrase against people who aren't like themselves having the audacity to be selected for certain jobs.
Because of her disability ( cerebral palsy) its difficult to understand her. Yet what i can understand isn't very funny for a stand up comic. Will i go to hell for expressing that opinion of her?
I think the point was that when rating comedians or not folk just name them, but in Rosie's case some people feel uneasy in case they seen as are singling her out. Disabled people are no different to able bodied in the likeability stakes, I've mixed with folk with all kinds of disabilities for years some are lovely some aren't same as everybody else. As I say Rosie seems to have a nice personality, just not good at comedy.
I was never a large follower of the C4 panel shows, but from what I have seen, I do think 8 out of 10 cats (the original) needs putting out of it's misery. The Countdown version is better but can be a bit annoying, and I never like Joe Wilkinson pissing around on it, but loved him in other series.
Also the guy who won Britains got talent about 4 years ago (No Voice Man?) Wasnt that funny in my opinion. There are also numerous able bodied comedians both male and female i dont find funny also.
I agree with that. I found it funny when he got booed off stage..... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-50644317 I don't mind comedians like Jon Richardson, Tom Allen, Rob Beckett, Joe Lycett, Kevin Bridges, Lucy Beaumont, Russell Kane and Harriett Kemsley.
I enjoy watching Rosie but I don't quite get the humour. Still like Countdown, 8 out of 10 cats and their iterations, some jokes hit and others don't, I'm not sure how much is scripted and what is ad-libbed.
