We probably have this thread every few months, but I'm sure I've not seen it for a while. There's two that stand out for me. Firstly, Oasis at Bridlington Spa. It was their warm up gig for their 2009 World Tour - the tour that never happened because the teddies fell out of the pram. A small venue holding around 2,000 people - a surreal experience after seeing them at the Etihad a few years prior. There was definitely a sense of something in the air, a bit of niggle between Liam and Noel. Made for such an atmosphere. Honourable mention to Ash in the early 2010s in Manchester. A greatest hits set on a sunny Bank Holiday Sunday. Stunning.
Nice. Bet Rush was something else. I'm a bit boring when it comes to music - but some of their 'big uns' played live must have been worth the entry fee.
Indoor Band. Green Day. Sheffield arena. Artiste. Cyndi lauper. Several venues. Outdoor U2 several venues.
Queensryche, before they turned *****, Promised Land tour Sheffield City Hall. The loudest gig I've ever heard.
REM -Huddersfield 95. Should have been Oasis supporting them but one of them had a crash - had Beautiful South instead who were great!
I've seen AC/DC, Stranglers, Ramones, Thin Lizzy etc and recently ticked Steely Dan off my bucket list but best ever....... Scissor Sisters....absolutely brought the house down.
Eagles - Hell Freezes Over tour in 1996 at Wembley Stadium. I was 14 and thought it was amazing. 2nd favourite was seeing Deftones and Rage Against the Machine at Download in 2010.
Best day...Rolling Stones Roundhay Park 82 support J Giels Band, George Thorogood and the Destroyers and Joe Jackson who was immense...Loudest Hawkwind with Lemmy Bradford 73...deaf for two weeks
David Bowie, 1973, Rollarena, Leeds. Absolutely ruined my future rock concerts because I compared every gig with this one, it was so good, nothing ever came close . RIP David, and thanks.
